My Mood:
A guide to a successful guild.

I am bored so I decided to make a guide to what I think makes a sucsessful guild. I don't know if this is the right forum for putting this, but it is to do with guilds- so I put it here.

********

Part 1: Planning Your Guild.
Part 2: Presenting Your Thread.
Part 3: Members and leaders.
Part 4: Events and Meetings.
********

Part 1:
Planning Your Guild.

Whether your guild is going to be for only 5 toon's or for 500 toon's, you must plan: What your guild is about. Any special requirments. How often everyone should come on. What you do at your guild. If you need to be true friends with anyone. Where you need to go. And there is many more you could think of!
We all know how hard (for some people) planning what to write for an exam is. Sadly, there you can't have any help. No, this is not an exam- so easily you could ask one of your friends (Who play on toontown or not) if they can help you think of any idea's.
REMEMBER:The last thing you say on your thread should be easy to remember, such as a catchy slogan.

********

Part 2:
Presenting Your Thread.

Often, when you are on Toontown, you talk in what I call 'Txt Mode.' Which is not using capital letters and full stops ( Capital Letter's . ) using abreviation's, ( G2g, Brb ) and/or spelling words wrong (Spelin words rong.) That really does not matter on Toontown, but when you want people to take note and understand what you are saying, I suggest you use Capital Letters, Spell words right, and not use abreviation's.
Often, people new to making guild's, when they put times, they only put their time zone making it hard for other's to see. If you search on google their are many time converter's so you can make sure most people know what time to come on.
Once you have finished writing everything, you can change the font, make title's underlined and BOLD, but a tip I would give is, if you have separate parts to your thread, separate them with about 8-12 centered stars. It makes it look more profesional and finished off.

********

Part 3:
Members and Leaders

Of course, I know from experience, that we want our best friends (On toontown) to be the Co-Leader or th Co-Manager or similar parts. You know that it will be a great guild with them. I learnt that you really need Co-Leaders who are active and you can have a great laugh with. And that could well be your best friend!
I would say members should go on a member list, until the amount of members exeed's about 50. For some people, they don't want to delete one of their toon's to make a new toon that has to have a special name. So if someone does not want to make a new toon, in a guild that you have to, I would say, 'I will put your toon's name on the member list, and you can help out at events and meeting's.'

Part 4:
Events and Meetings

Try and make a meeting's and events suitable for all time zones. As you don't want to be the only one there because everyone else is sleeping! Make a time table for each meeting. Maybe for each meeting you could have a special topic, for example: Fishing, tasks, golf and there are many others! Also, try and make it to every meeting. If you can't, make a time table between you and your co-leader, for which meetings you and your co-leader are going to Lead.

I hope this helps everyone with creating guild's. Please take a note of any spelling error's or things you think I should change. If this is in the wrong forum, or I shouldn't be posting this- I don't mind if it needs to be deleted.
FEEDBACK WOULD BE APPRECIATED!
Thanks
~PPD
