The Complete Fix For Uk Vista
Before doing this I suggest you delete all TT's from your Laptop/PC
Go to control panel add and remove programs (not called this on vista called program sumat) remove any TT installation go to the Usa site and download TT Now follow these instructions 1.In Internet Explorer, click Tools > Internet Options. 2.In the window that appears, click the Security tab. 3.Click to remove the check mark from the box labeled "Enable Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer)". You will see a warning message after doing this. Click OK to proceed. 4.Click on Trusted Sites > Sites. 5.Deselect "Require server verification (https) for all sites in this zone." 6.Add toontown.com in the "Add this website to the zone," then click Close. 7.Click on Custom Level to bring up the Security Settings - Trusted Sites Zone. 8.Enable "Auto prompting for ActiveX controls." 9.Scroll down and click Enable for "Auto prompting for file downloads." 10.Click Okay then Yes to the warning message. 11.Click the red Play button. 12.At the "Check Your System" page, proceed with installing the Toontown ActiveX control. 13.Close all Internet Explorer windows then restart Internet Explorer. 14.In Internet Explorer type: http://a.download.toontown.com/sv1.0...llLauncher.exe (as of 17/01/2008) Save the file to your desktop. Click Run then Allow at the User Account Control window to install Toontown. Go back to the Internet Explorer and bring up http://www.toontown.co.uk. Click the red Play button to log in as you normally would. Click Install. When prompted by the User Account Control window again, click Allow. It still wont work so follow these instructions
If you have anymore problems (like I did) Maybe try doing a system restore to the last time you could play TT (It worked for me!) I will keep the server link updated for the next couple of weeks as and when there is an update Last edited by Miss Zowie Funnytoon; 06-01-2008 at 11:12 PM. Reason: update |

I agree too, its so annoying trawling through threads and flicking from one post to another because there are two sets of instructions that we have to follow like i did last night trying to get it to work so I hope they dont merge it! Its not fair for the people who cant get it to work!
I know I was annoyed when I couldnt get it to work! ![]() Quote:

We appreciate your understanding." i did not even look for ways for a couple of days but tonight i found your post and i'm back on i'm so happy (how sad is that) ![]() Last edited by leslie; 12-13-2007 at 11:07 PM. Latest mail from tt
tt sent me this reply yesterday in response to one of the mails I sent them.
If you have the Toontown game installed and played it on Windows Vista previously but have encountered problems with launching it recently, you can try the following setting. This might help you to launch the game again. 1) Locate the file toontown.exe on your computer. It is normally in the folder "C:\Program Files\Disney\Disney Online\Toontown\" but the file extension (".exe") is not necessarily shown. This folder contains other files with the same name ("toontown") only with other extension - make sure you locate the Toontown "Application" file ("toontown.exe"). 2) Right-click on the file name and choose "Properties" 3) Switch to the tab "Compatibility" 4) In the box "Compatibility mode" tick the box "Run this program in compatibilty mode for:" and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" from the drop-down (if it's not pre-selected already). 5) Click "OK" Go to the Toontown.co.uk website again and try to launch the game again. Please note that these steps will only help you if the Toontown software is already present on your computer from a previous successful install. If you have Toontown installed already, we suggest that you do NOT uninstall it, as you will unfortunately not be able to re-install it on a Vista machine. We are working hard to solve this issue. Please mind the additional requirements for running Toontown on Vista here: http://www.disney.co.uk/toontown/faq...townInWinVista We have added 10 days free game play to your accounts dasdasn and Woodywillow. We appreciate your understanding. Thank you. Dimitri Member Services Disney's Toontown Online (UK) I already managed to get back on tt on my PC thanks to the help of the great UK toons before they sent me this mail ( I bet they just got the idea from here!) Its just a shame I deleted tt from my laptop so this fix wont work. So if anyone has any ideas how I can download it bak onto my vista laptop I would be grateful. TT have offered me 10 days credit so I think everyone who has not been able to play should get the same. |

I followed all the instructions here , but unfortunatelly my problem is that I can not get to this round button "Ply Now" at all as I get blocked by the page "your PC doesn't meet requirement.. bla bla" page:
even if I click on my account to access the payment I always get that page. That happens on IE 7 BTW on Firefox - I could access the button , but then , of course I get to the message where it says "you have to use IE browser to play the game" So it brings me to the initiall problem! I was playing on Vista without any problems since July, till this last update/bug appeared. Since I could not access even my account page after the problem occured - I had to write to them an email asking to suspend my payment till the problem is solved (as I am not paying for two accounts whiles not being able to use them anymore) They wrote a confirmation and even that they are paying me back 178 remaining days of my not yet fully used yearly subcription - at least that part was fair.

I followed the now to be known as "genius tracie toon" 's instructions to the letter and it worked . The trick is to completely uninstall any version of Toontown, then install the US version, (by making sure enabled protect is off first). then do everything Tracy says. Just click on the link in her post to make the launcher install...no need to type it in.
Toons of the UK UNITE!!! Thanks Tracie....you are a STAR...you should be awarded a platinum star by TTC ![]() |
