I would try downloading US version to your laptop on a trial account then try logging in to TT UK once the programs are in place on your lappy and you've "fixed" them!! Good Luck! C.T.

My friend tried this fix for Vista and she cannot get it to work
How many other UK's have managed to get it to work? She think's she may be going wrong somewhere, so if you could post to say weather you've been able to get back on or not it would be a great help

Could she post pics of the steps she has taken at all? She must make sure that the folder she is adjusting the properties to is the Toontown "Application" file. It states what type of file it is at the bottom of the screen. She must select from the dropdown box to run in compatability mode with "Windows XP", and remember to check the tick box. Hope this helps. Let us know if no luck. Here is a geek guide as to using compatability modes if it helps at all. ALTERNATIVELY:- Is there anything within the following that helps? I haven't read it all, do not know whether it is up to date, but if it helps, great! Installing Toontown (Vista) Want to play Toontown on Windows Vista? You can't use the normal "Play" button and jump right into the game, like the procedure above. Toontown isn't designed for Vista yet, so you will have to do a few things before begining your Toon experience. If you are a young toon, you may want to get your parent's help on this one! The following settings may put your computer at risk from unknown and unsafe sites, only if you choose to visit them. Although, this seems to be the only way to have Toontown on a Vista-ran computer. Always proceed with caution! In regards to that, you may see a few messages, such as "The current security settings may put your computer at risk", or something of the like. Ignore them if you wish to continue. Assuming you have created an account already (If you haven't, see above!), we need to change a few options. Open Internet Explorer. In the top-right corner (At default), click "Tools". A window appears: Click the "Security" tab (At the top of the window). There, you'll find a checkbox labeled "Enable protected mode" (Under "Internet"). Un-check that. Click on "Trusted sites", or the green Checkmark. Click on the "Sites" button. Another window appears. In this window, find a checkbox labeled "Require server verifictation (Https) for all sites in this zone". Un-check that box. In the type-box, type in "toontown.com" and hit "Add". Now close that window, back to the security tab window. Click on "Custom Level" (Under Trusted Sites). Scroll down and look for "Auto Prompting for Active X controls", and select the circle "Enable" under that. Scroll down some more, and look for "Auto Prompting for File Downloads". Select the circle "Enable" under that, too. Now, close everything, making sure to save all your settings, until you're back on Internet Explorer. Click the "Play" button on the Toontown website. It will ask you to install the Active X controls. Follow through all the steps. Before logging in, open a new Internet explorer (Or, a new tab). Type in the following website: http://a.download.toontown.com/VERSI...llLauncher.exe Where it says VERSION, type in the current version of toontown. You can find this in the release notes. An example of a good link would be... http://a.download.toontown.com/sv1.0...llLauncher.exe But it MUST be the latest version of toontown! Or else, this will not work! (Do not use these links - These are OLD, most likely) It will ask to save a file. Do not Run, do not Cancel, but Save this file in a location you will remember (You will only need this file once), such as the desktop. After it is done downloading, run this file on your computer. After it goes through a proccess of "Installing" toontown, go back to Toontown.com. Their may not be a prompt of when the installation is done, except the window will close by itself. Go back to Toontown's home page, click play, Log in, and Toontown should now work on your computer. You may now play Toontown on Vista! Assuming you dont change these options, you will not have to go through this process any longer. Just go through the normal "Play" routine on the front page of Toontown like any other computer. You may delete the file you downloaded earlier. |

Instructions For Installing Tt On Vista
Before doing this I suggest you delete all TT's from your Laptop/PC
Go to control panel add and remove programs (not called this on vista called program sumat) remove any TT installation go to the Usa site and download TT Now follow these instructions 1.In Internet Explorer, click Tools > Internet Options. 2.In the window that appears, click the Security tab. 3.Click to remove the check mark from the box labeled "Enable Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer)". You will see a warning message after doing this. Click OK to proceed. 4.Click on Trusted Sites > Sites. 5.Deselect "Require server verification (https) for all sites in this zone." 6.Add toontown.com in the "Add this website to the zone," then click Close. 7.Click on Custom Level to bring up the Security Settings - Trusted Sites Zone. 8.Enable "Auto prompting for ActiveX controls." 9.Scroll down and click Enable for "Auto prompting for file downloads." 10.Click Okay then Yes to the warning message. 11.Click the red Play button. 12.At the "Check Your System" page, proceed with installing the Toontown ActiveX control. 13.Close all Internet Explorer windows then restart Internet Explorer. 14.In Internet Explorer type: http://a.download.toontown.com/sv1.0...llLauncher.exe (as of 13/12/2007) Save the file to your desktop. Click Run then Allow at the User Account Control window to install Toontown. Go back to the Internet Explorer and bring up http://www.toontown.co.uk. Click the red Play button to log in as you normally would. Click Install. When prompted by the User Account Control window again, click Allow. It still wont work so follow these instructions [list=1]
If you have anymore problems (like I did) Maybe try doing a system restore to the last time you could play TT (It worked for me!) I will keep the server link updated for the next couple of weeks as and when there is an update |
