co.uk vs .com and Test

I was reading through some threads and thought I shud post a recent experience.

My Boy desperate to get into test managed to sign up an account under disney.com and as a result then was able to obtain a test account.

I too was lead to believe tht u needed a zip code and all the rest of it, tht signin under .com and payment from a UK B/account wouldn't be possible.

As said, he managed to do it. It was our address with our uk postcode, payments were processed, an account was ther to log into on .com and also a test account.

BTW it was alot cheaper than we pay for it in the UK mayb it was under a special offer this I dont know.

When I cancelled the account I did query Disney how this was possible of course no reply to the query, it wasnt a zip code how?

So go for it, if u want test swap over to disney.com it all seems possible from where I am sitting. I know Disney will swap over toons onto new accounts, so really I cant see why we can't.

You may even find it cheaper. Let us know I might reactivate the account and leave .co.uk. I am a little annoyed in my haste for not keeping it runnin rofl.

As to the question of fees here.... it is actually cheaper to play US as opposed to UK toontown!

Current subscription fees:-

US - $79.95 for annual membership -- a 33% savings!
UK - Yearly subscription: £49.99 every twelve months - Save over 40%

79.95 US dollars = 39.16 British pounds sterling

US - $49.95 for 6 months -- a savings of over 15%!
UK - Six-monthly subscription: £28.99 every six months - Save over 30%

49.95 US dollars = 24.46 British pounds sterling

US - $9.95 per month
UK - Monthly subscription: £6.99 every month

9.95 US dollars = 4.87 British pounds sterling

Exchange rate: 0.489764
Rate valid as of: 15/10/2007

There are almost 2 dollars to one of our one pounds. Maybe the dollar should be worth more.. dont really have an opinion on that - especially not on this site.

Yes we brits do spell things a little differently, for instance, we spell barley.. barely, and we spell werid.. weird. Ah well.

May I apologize on behalf of my country for our English being well, so English. ;-)

Wow such a language barrier! wait while I get my American to English dictionary lol. Most of the time I just figure fingers went wrong on the keyboard. I type words slightly off all the time. Sometime i'm in too much of a hurry to back track and type the whole thing over again. Besides for me the best part of toontown is getting to know different people from all over.

I don't think we speak that werid (what is werid anyway??)!!!!! Its not like we speak another language LOL.

One of the best things is meeting people from around the world - I have a lovely French friend ~ luckily for me he speaks pretty good English, but we have a right hoot at the things we get wrong sometimes, its fun!!

Thanx Truly, Nice first reply.

What cleared through my account for our .com account was under £3 sterling. Compared to the usual £6.99 on our .co.uk accounts. Well worth letting members know I think. I run two accounts so by swapping to our great friends site across the lil pond would save me £8 per month and annually ALOT!

Excuse me while i stomp up and down room banging head against wall wondering how my 8 year old is soooo much cleverer than I. I wish I would of left tht account running.

I could be runnin through Bossbot on test, I would see top toons everyday as I logged in. Oh and I coulda saved money!

You gotta love our kids.

Have a gr8 day

It makes it sound more appealing to have 2 accounts when you look at it that way - much easier to train your new toon if you can play 2 toons!! Might have to look at that when the new lappy arrives!!!

Yeah, love our kids (when they're at school) LOL, JK!!!

LoL well it is nice when they are at skool cos then u get the chance to play the two accounts

Again I stomp up and down cos one is his account with his toons and one is mine with mine only recently did I think let me make a toon on his and get my high laffer to help her along her way. Though I much prefer my accounts Estate the trees look healthy as oppose to a graveyard like his. ROFL I thnk His 7th tree is healthy tht's it!

I love TT for my friends it's just too much fun having them help me and me help them.

It's nice not running from the plygrnd to hq tho everytime I come out the cfo
