English - French : little guide

Bonjour,

Voici un petit peu d'aide pour les anglophones, désireux d'apprendre un peu de francais.
Se sont quelques phrases courrante que l'on utilise souvent dans les différentes langues.

Here is a little help for english-speaker, who interested by learning french.
There is some sentences, wich ones are mostly uses in the various language.

- Hi, Hello : Bonjour, Salut
- My name is **** : Mon nom est **** or Je m'appelle ****
- How old are you ? : Quel age as-tu ? or Quel age avez-vous ?
- I : je, j' (exemple : i'm 27 years old : j'ai 27 ans or I live in canada : je vis au canada)
- You : tu, vous (we use "tu" for a friend or young people and we use "vous" for adult or unknown people)
- He : il
- her : elle
- we : nous
- They : ils (for male) and elles (for female)
- How are you doing ?: comment allez-vous ?
- Good : bien
- Do you want to be my friend ? : Veux-tu être mon ami ?
- Do you speak english ? : Parlez-vous anglais ? or Parles-tu francais ?
- Do you want to play with me ? veux-tu jouer avec moi ? or voulez-vous jouer avec moi ?
- My french is not so good but i learn it : Mon francais, n'est pas trés bon mais j'apprend
- How are you doing ? : Comment allez-vous ?
- I like Ice-Cream : j'aime la crème glacée or j'aime la glace
- I am Happy : Je suis content or je suis contentE (when it's a girl who talk)

and je mapelle (i cant spell)
Is the correct way to say my name is.
Its a verb

So, you can say both "bon" or "bonne". In fact u can use "bon" when u talk at masculine exemple :

I had a good supper : J'ai eut un bon souper

Supper = souper (and souper is male word)

you can use "bonne" when u talk at feminine form, exemple :

Have a good evening : Passe une bonne soirée

Evening = Soirée (and soirée is a female word)

You know what i mean ?

My name is **** = Mon nom est **** or you also can say : Je m'appelle ****

So, yes you got it, its a correct way to say it. (The exact verb is "s'appeller")
