I played toontown but I can't talk to people with the blue button!

You have to be subscribed member. If you are, then you must make sure chat is enabled. if it is, then go to the secret swapping forum and ask for a code. Once you have a code you go to the word bubble on your friends list and enter your code. Then after following these steps, you should be able to chat.

You will only be able to use that button if you have a true friend. To make one, you will need to know somebody in real life who plays TT. Click their toon, click "True Friend" then click "Get a True Friend code". Tell them the code, they will type it in and hey presto, you will be True Friends! You can then type chat to them using the blue button, but only your True Friend will be able to understand you.
