Tips for Mailers and Toontown Customer Service

Have you ever e-mailed Toontown, just to find that they send a lousy one back? Are you a full member but haven't recieved your mailer yet? Here's some info about all of that.

Customer Service

Many people claim that Toontown's (or rather Disney's) Customer Service is lame and unprofessional. The truth is, Disney is very busy and doesn't always have time to reply thoughtfully to your e-mail. Don't have a cow on them, wait for 1-1 and a half weeks before re-sending another e-mail.

If you send a letter about a mischievious toon, you'll get a letter similar to this one:

Quote:
Dear Toontown Guest, Thank you for your recent report. We are sorry you have been troubled by player behavior in Toontown. We will do our best to investigate this incident and record it for possible further action. In the meantime, you should make sure the offensive Toon is not on your Friends List. To remove them:- Open your Friends List by clicking on the icon in the upper right handcorner in the game.- You can select Toon names on your "Online Friends" list or your "All Friends" list. You can switch between these two lists by clicking on thesmall blue arrows at the bottom of the panel.- Once you have found the name of the Toon you would like to delete fromyour Friends List, simply click on his or her name.- From the menu that pops up, select "Friends."- You will then see a small blue button labeled "Stop being friends." Click this button and then click "Yes" on the confirmation screen. Toons that are not on your Friends List can be avoided by switching Districts. To switch Districts:- Go to the "District" page in your Shticker Book- Click on another District name Toons not on your Friends List will not know which District you went to,so it will be difficult, if not impossible, to follow you. We've taken many measures to eliminate opportunities for grief play in Disney's Toontown Online. Thank you for your help in this effort. We look forward to seeing you in Disney's Toontown Online soon!
Thank You!
Replies may vary but this is the standard message.

Keep in mind, Disney is not always quick to reply so it could be a while before they do.

Customer Service is for you to belt out your problems and concerns about Toontown. It's not to bug them about being a developer or asking them what they're going to add next. If you bug them, they'll become angry at you and you won't be in the "Good" books with them.

If they don't reply, try going to Toontown Live Chat. They're open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM Pacific Time. It's a good way to directly talk with a techinician and get your problem specifically answered.

If you get your account suspended, they'll send you an e-mail to notify you of how long it's for. When that amount of time has passed, you have to call them at their number and confirm.

Mailers

A lot of people have complained about being signed up for two years to Toontown and haven't even gotten their Welcome Pack yet. Here's info on how to fix that.

If you've signed up to Toontown, via online, you are eligible to recieve a Welcome Pack and a Bi-Monthly newsletter that is sent to your home, plus an e-mail newsletter. If you've been waiting just about forever for your's to come, try these things:
  • Go to the Toontown Homepage and click "Member Services" along the right-hand side toolbar. A few options will drop down. Click "Mail Options". It will then take you to a page that has all of your mailing options. If you want to recieve bi-monthly letters in the mail, make sure the appropriate box is NOT checked off and the same for the e-mail. If you'd like to change your e-mail adress to recieve the newsletter, you need to call.
  • If that doesn't work, try e-mailing them.

If you e-mail them, try being polite to them. You can come across as a bit annoyed but not too much because they won't get the right idea from you. Here's a good example of a letter to send:

Quote:
I'm really sorry to be bugging you this much, but I'm really getting worried about my bi-monthly mailer. It's been 16 weeks since I payed for a Toontown account online. I thought, of course it takes a while to mail things, but this is just a bit ridiculous. I have checked to see if the Mailing option is not checked off and it isn't. Is it something to do with me living in Canada? I really want the mailer and it was supposed to come about 6-8 weeks ago but so far nothing has come. I really hope it has nothing to do with me living in (<snip by OP>). Thanks!
This is how I got them to re-send the info for my mailers. They'll ask you your billing adress and anything related to that. When you send it to them, they'll reply with a message saying they've re-instated your info or something along the lines of that. Then, within 2-3 months, you'll get your Welcome Pack and your first newsletter! (Note: This is how I got my mailers, what works for me, may not work for you.)

That's it!

Note: If you want to call Toontown, here's their number.

Hope this helps!

Cool. I still haven't received mine, yet my dad did take off that option when we first signed up. Now since December it's been marked, and I did get the BBHQ mailer. I still want my magnets from the New Years, and I've been thinking of e-mailing Disney or going on live chat about it. Now I know what to do better. This should be a sticky.

I'd like to know if anybody gets the welcome kit without begging for it multiple times over several months. I've had 2 accounts for over 4 months and haven't gotten the welcome kits, even after email exchanges where I was assured it was going to be sent.

The key is not to beg. You have to ask politely for them to reinstate your mailer. I sent one e-mail about it and they sent one back asking for info, I, in turn, sent it to them and they assured me it was coming. How long have you waited for the mailer? When did they send you an e-mail stating that you were to get your mailer? All this info needs to be considered.
