A griefer is a player who purposely tries to make other players angry or upset. They might do this by harrassing you with angry chat, they might purposely try to cause you to lose a battle, or they might somehow try to prevent you from making progress on something you're working on.

Griefers usually..
-Ditch you in the vp/cfo/ceo -Make you go sad (lose lv 7) -Purposely block elevator timer -Lure a cog when you're dropping -Use sound on lured cogs -Give happy toons tu when you need it -Kill cogs so you can't use your gag -Use a lower level gag w/ yours so it misses -Pass so you have to use all your gags and SOS cards So basically, just a toon that causes you, well... grief. Anything to bug you on tt. |

& if another guy is training trap and throws out some marbles, it is my duty to lure for it and not help get a higher group bonus if I use throw like everyone else? But other than that, the other qualitied are what makes a griefer. I also think of greifers as low laff toons in high laff places. Like if there was a 35 in The Brrgh who has every intention of going into a building. Their being there will lead to the other 3 toons who go into a building with him to be in danger. And, if he is there, it will lead to greifing. Cause really, I WILL hop a 23 who insists on going into a 5 story building in The Brrgh. Greifers are also people who discriminate against people's empty gag tracks. Like the ones who start stinking you because your TUless or your Soundless. I have had a combination of both with one of the most immature 120 laff bears ever. He started stinking me because of my TUless, passed in the building we were in, and only tooned up the other toons-- even if they were down 1 laff. The guy Bearly had a brain. |

A griefer is a slang term used to describe a player in a multiplayer video game who plays the game simply to cause grief to other players through harassment. Griefing is a malignant form of emergent gameplay.
Griefers differ from typical players in that they do not play the game in order to achieve objectives defined by the game world. Instead, they seek to harass other players, causing grief. In particular, they may use tools such as stalking, hurling insults, and exploiting unintended game mechanics. Griefing as a gaming play style is not simply any action that may be considered morally incorrect. Though the staff of each online game defines griefing in a manner that best fits their game, certain criteria must be met for an action to be considered griefing. An act of griefing involves the following three types of actions to be considered grief play.... 1.The unfair use or abuse of a game mechanic that was not intended by the game's developers. 2.The inability of the victim to exact some means of retribution beyond utilizing similar unintended game mechanics. 3.The intended purpose of an act of griefing must be to negatively impact the game play of another person.
