It really all depends.
YOU have to train your trap gag. Its not going to train yourself. So the real question is: Is trap convenient, can you use it all the time? Well, alot of people I know are lureless so sometimes it is a bit hard. I chose trap AND lure so I can set my own traps. I got trap around three months ago (counting the month I took a break) and I have the lvl three gag (marbles). I don't use it very much. But if its between trap and drop, I think drop is harder to train just because it misses alot at first. Trap accuracy is perfect, its the lure that needs to work. |

I find it much easier to train than drop. Drop is seldom used until you gain pianos. I would often go an entire week without reaching for a drop gag. Trap, however, is needed constantly. It assists lure, and should be used as such. Once you start going through mints you will find that even marbles is welcome. I mean, if someone else is trapping then you should defer to them until yours is bigger, but otherwise you should make sure there is a trap on every lure if possible.
As far as training on your own, I again found trap easier than drop since drop misses so often until you get the skill points up. |

My first toon [Princess Candy] was trapless. I was curious at what training trap would be like, so I created Popcorn. As this was my first time as a trapper, I picked trap in Minnie's Melodyland. As I soon relized, this was not the best choice. I had already picked lure, and was training for sound. Now that I was having to complete harder tasks, I figured that trap at this point was not the best choice. This is because my lure is weak. Not being able to train by myself made it ten times harder. So now I am kind of stuck in a tough situation with that toon. Being soundless, doesn't help very much either. Needless to say, trap is easiest to train if it is picked last.

On my lureless toon, i picked trap as my last gag, and I found it the hardest to train, but I still had it maxxed by the time I was 105 laff (and this was before law hq/and constant invasions).
On my luring toons, I picked trap in minnies, and trained lure and trap together, and it went quickly, but I am a hopeless soloer who trained it a LOT in buildings. |

Between my and my children's toons, we have maxxed trap on 3 and maxxed drop on 2. My very first toon had trap and I found it difficult to train because of the necessity of the second gag and I would only use it during play if it had sufficient damage to defeat the cog. The second had drop, and I actually found that easier to max even with the misses, but I did it soloing 3-story buildings, literally dropping every cog if and until I ran out of drop gags.
I, or we, maxxed the trap and drop gags on the other toons by running 2 at a time (separate accounts). I chose building or cog tasks, and defeated 4- and 5-story buildings, using the gags I was concentrating on maxxing on the 4th and 5th floors for more experience points. I still found drop was easier for me at least because of the ability to solo more easily.

I actually find drop easier to train because it can always be used as a backup for example if my friend and I both pie a level 10 and it doesn't die but the other toon chose drop on the same round then the cog would die. Trap however is hard to train considering that it needs to be lured on the same round it was put to avoid getting hit and if the trap gag is still like a lvl 2 rake then surely it wouldn't die causing other players to be injured. Since nobody likes it when toons use a weak trap on a strong cog 'cuz it might lead to a "You Stink!" or etc. some toons actually don't use their trap gags to avoid being stinked so I believe it's harder to train.

Put it this way, I'm a 111 laffer with trap door and piano.
It'll be a while before i max either of them. I've always kinda abandoned them, trap seems pretty useless for me and I never get to use drop because its last, but now I've been using my piano a lot more.. ha, thats bad ![]() |

Trap is surely easier to train because the cog can never die before the gag hits (as long as the lure works) BUT I gotta say that when it comes to the big battles I find drop MUCH more useful. I have toons maxed on both and love my piano

Trap is Hilarious
To train trap, its pretty easy as long as you have a friend that has lure. Or if you have lure, that may also work too but I think its better if a friend has it instead. To watch the cogs fall on trap is the funniest.
Drop is probably the hardest to train out of all. First, it goes last. Also, if the cog is lured, or already lured in battle, drop WILL miss. I hated training drop with my first toon but my trap went faster than my lure. Mostly because I had a few friends who did lure while I used trap. |
