help! i need tips for the pie round

i really like to VP and i usually do pretty well in the cog and skelecog rounds, but i need some tips from some experienced toons on how to stun the vp and knocking him back. are you supposed to stand really close until the door opens and then throw a pie when the bar is really low? i've done numerous vp's where if i could only stun the vp correctly, we would have won. also, i hate feeling useless when i happen to get in with a bunch of 100+ laffers (don't want to look like i'm just going along for the ride) =( if anyone has any tips for anything in the pie round, they would be very much appreciated!

I felt like this when i first started doing VP's but read up on some threads and watched higher toons and now think ive cracked it. Personally i like to stand pretty far back get my aim right then throw pies like crazy and i do pretty well, I can never seem to hit the VP up close so dont try anymore. If ur not too great at hitting the spot when the door opens then try standing on the ramp and throwing pies at his head again trial and error on the best spot but again if im doing this i like to stand back so I actually hit him not miss.
