What is TIPS?

What does TIPS do? lol I know I'm kinda clueless.

it's a cog invasion warning system that you sign up for and have it up and play Toontown in the Window view and they will alert you when there's a cog invasion of what Species of cog like Flunkys or Loan Sharks and in what district the down side is they don't have Nutty River on th list.

When i used to listen to those things they were never right.People had a little to much fun making u think theres an invasion in a certain district.

It was great back when invasions were far and few between. But ever since Lawbot HQ came along and toons can call there own invasions the use for Tips isn't needed as much. It is still usable and can report an invasion. I just checked...

Yes, although from when i used it, u either had email alerts or sound alerts, sound alerts should work even in full mode, but you would not be able to start invasion or stop and invasion easily that way.

Yes it was good back in old days, did most of my maxing far more easily thanks to tips, it started getting abused as it went on though, by people starting false invasions, either for fun or to get most reported invasions (A silly stat to have on front page if u ask me). But as someone said with invasions calls from law battles, i found it was less useful and it couldn't cope with the constant reports of invasions.

However with new version coming, if they get rid of the idea of being top reporter, and a logging system to catch consistant false reporters, with addition threat of accounts and IP being banned. It could come back fresh a new a better system.

Only time will tell.

Howdy and Goodmorning to All,
It's good to hear someone is trying to salvage the program. I loaded it the other day, and there must of been a dozen Skelecog invasion reports (huh?), and a few misc. ones. I checked out a few while I was gardening but nothing was there. This all ended around 8:00 am therefore, I assume it may have been a child playing with it before school (Or Maybe NOT).

Also, I hope that new version continues to leave out Nutty River & Summit, most people know there are invasions in those districts all the time. Plus, the reports would just continue to add to the overcrowding in those districts. That is, if they could even get into them, which very unlikely. It also, might back-up the reporting system, and slow down release of other (more useful) reports, due to the alarm being in continuously notifification mode.

Other than the horsing around, I think it can be a awesome tool, and especially if there is a way to prevent double reporting, and a way to slow down or elemenate the false reporting. It may also be useful if there was a way to report, a false report, as this may help in determining who is making them. ! My hats off to whoever is working on it. I for one wish TIPS and the Programer's the best and would love to see TIPS be fully functional again. In spite of Lawbot HQ, I think it can still be a very valuable tool, especially for newer Toons trying to build gags. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
