Suggestions to improve TIPS
1. The Web page / E-mail should name the user who reported the invasion.
2. You should be able to Cancel an invasion for a period of time, a Cancel should then remove the invasion from the list and count AGAINST the person who reported the false invasion. 3. Users who report false invasions should be in a Hall of Shame 4. Provide a method for users to "TEST" the online notification on the Web PAge so they don't report false invasions as a "TEST" Last edited by HojoMojo; 01-26-2006 at 05:34 AM. |

And unfortunately, some folks are falsely ENDING invasions. Then THEIR bad behavior would put someone else in the hall of shame.
I wish there was a way to prove who did the not-nice thing, but I don't think anyone has figured out how to do it yet. |

It's not hard to know who reported or who ended an invasion notice. You have to be logged in to do it. The problem is anyone could go to the trouble of creating new accounts so they could remain anonymous while falsely reporting/ending invasion notices.
I also think a TEST MODE that only notifies the TESTER would be worthwhile. It would prevent all of us from seeing false notices from newbie users who just want to confirm it works. |

I don't think that there is any way that REAL invasions can be reported. The only way todo this is for the owner of TIPS (Greg?) to create a team of people who are the only ones that can report and end an invasion. this could be used so that only trusted people have the power to report an invasion. Also, it should show who reported each invasion, so that Greg(?) can ban their IP address and get a new member of the team. He could have like 30 people (below 30 would be too few, because those people won't be on Toontown 24-7) that he knows will do a good job. Whenever they see an invasion, the report it and end it when it's done!

What is required is transparency not a perfect but closed system.
Sure, anyone can create a webmail account and start reporting/ending invasions falsely, same thing is true for IP addresses, but how many will actually do that? The payoff/inconvenience factor just isn't there.... On the other hand clicking the "ended..." button when you know that no one will know it was you or reporting fake invasions knowing that you won't be identified as the one who did it is painless and easy. Tonight I reported an invasion of Two-Faces in Toon Valley. It was falsely ended, so I reported it again, and it was falsely ended again. When I tried to report it the third time I was blocked because it has been less then 10 minutes since the last invasion I reported. When was the block on the butthead who kept ending an ongoing invasion? Who was this butthead? |

CFO invasion in donalds dreamland! All districts! lol jk. But to the poster who said ban the IP, computers dont all have the same IP. I thought it had something to do with network but I did something with my laptop and I did something with a desktop and they had different IPs. And they were both connected to the exact same wireless network. But... I used 2 laptops right next to eachother and they registered as the same IP. Freeeaky!
