IM "bug"... Do NOT Click the link!
Everyone I know on IM is getting odd "is this really you" messages on thier IMs, with thier email addresses in the link. DO NOT CLICK THE LINK! It is crashing computers.

I was silly and clicked on the link before I knew what was going on, (was curious as to see what picture geocities had of me) after I did my IM sent it to everyone on my list. From what I can tell two from my list also clicked as I got sent it again.
Clicking on it caused the whole PC to blacken out, I just spent two hours cleaning up the mess it made. My virus scan did not detect anything when I ran it. At first I thought maybe it was due to deleting it and removing from trash bin. But shortly after my PC went to a blue screen. I was unable to log into my account on the PC, but was able to log into Nicoles. This allowed me to install bitdefender which found two threats within MSN.

Yes, IMs have been very messed up for me lately. The programmers are getting pretty crafty. They come up with stories, for example "I was walking down the street today and some car smashed into a street light pole. Want to see the picture I got with my phone?". But they really just send me a link to the crash. The person uses the same message over and over again. It gets annoying.

I hope you all did an AV scan after that! That type of thing can infect computers with all sorts of nasties, including ID theft programs!
