What is the diference with cogs V1 and V2?

V2 cogs are cogs that once defeated, produce a skelecog that takes their place. For example:

There are four cogs, Cog A, Cog B, Cog C, and Cog D. Cog D is a V2, and the rest are V1. If you use sound to destroy them all, Cog D would reappear as a skelecog.
