Should I choose sound or trap first on test?

I made a thread like this a while ago, but now it's actually time to choose.

I'm about to be given the choice between getting sound or trap in Melodyland. I'm planning on getting them both, but which should I get first? I'm leaning toward sound, because I'll probably need to do alot of sound blasts while testing Lawbot HQ.

What are your suggestions?

Having chose sound last I would say go with it first. I am now at 104 laff and still don't have fog which is a real pain in the mints. My friends are great and let me work it a lot but I know it is frustrating when you want to get through that mint fast when I have an elephant that is still pretty wimpy. At least with trap you should be able to work it on the injured leftover 11's when you blast away the 10's

Just my .02

My 2 cents worth also

Go with sound as it gives you multicog attack status. It isn't very helpful until you get the 'ahoooga', which is nice in factory runs on the lvl5 and less cogs(complimented with a lvl5 elephant horn). It definitely is a boon when u get lvl6 (fog) for mint runs and the supervisor battles. BUT! ! ! You will get people upset if you pull a lvl2 sound out in a VP on a set of lvl11's or so when they are lured and others can't back you up. Sound and squirt are great stunners for drop and is perhaps a better first choice than trap, which builds very slowly due to its limited use.
Trap is an excellent gag to compliment lure as it seems to help lure work better most times, however I feel sound is the more effective gag when its strength is at least lvl4.

Okay, thanks for the advice. Everyone I've asked has told me to get sound first, so that's what I'll do.

toonup, lure, sound, then trap or drop as last one.

when you have lure and sound, go into the easier 3 story builds by yourself. yes, by yourself. then lure, sound, lure, sound. builds up quickly!!! yes, yes, i know, dont sound on lured cogs. if you like, lure, kill off all but one, then sound and lure it until it's gone. save your top three sounds for the top floor , of course.

or if you can, go help someone do run after run in the factory for their hollywood suit merits. they will like the company, you will build up quickly.

Take two toons and work 3 gags -- Lure, Sound, Lure, TU, then "Sound, Lure, TU" over and over.... I'm surprised by the number of 80 to 100 laff toons that don't have fog nor are they maxed in Sound / Lure...

I'm taking Trap as my third gag choice to change it up some..... I always take LURE as soon as you can and TU / Sound as my first or third choice. Once I get Cream Pie and Fire Hose I look for other ways to kill off the cogs. Throw and squirt are my last options since they are too easy to max.... I guess that is why my 60+ laff toons have close to 9000 in sound and are usually maxed by 80. My TU is always lacking... I dodge too much...LOL

As "Colonel Chocoluck - wizard of the Deputy Dynowoof's test clan of toons" (kyga42066) said in another thread... know what kills a cog. If the other toons are killing it then I try to work a gag...example - if 2 berry pies are selected for a 6 lvl cog then I select sound or lure since I know that the 6 is going down regardless of what I use.

For me, on all my toons, lure was the first to max out by the time they reached 65 laff (just coming out of Brrgh). I try as much as possible to keep gags in line. By this I mean, all level 4 or all level 5 and so on. Obviously sometimes one will outreach the other but that can easily be fixed up.

For instance, my 57 laff dog has all level 5 gags right now and she's still working Brrgh. My 57 laff mouse is missing tu and sound level 5 but she's quite close.

You say you are surprised to see 80 laff toons not having some of their gags max, I saw a 110 laff toon with tu not max ... guess he didn't tu many players.

Happy Tooning ~~

Now that I think of it, it really makes sense to get sound first. After all, don't you generally max the gag you get last? I'm going to need good sound. Trap will get maxxed slowly regardless.
