Random thoughts about racing, test, tt in general

Racing--Obviously there have been people using something, be it glitch or program, to take unfair advantage in the racing forum. Granted, we are here to find out what works and doesn't work. However, the line is crossed when what is found is being exploited for the benefit of some without regard to those who are not exploiting it or know how to exploit it. I have a real problem with that. Now, with that said, I do think some are quick to think and accuse others of cheating when in reality there are some who are simply better at racing than others. I think we all ought to be careful of who we accuse.

Racing--Winning and losing are simply facts of everyday life. You win some and you lose some. You can be mad or upset that you lost. But what purpose does it serve to take it out on someone else. What it should do is motivate you to improve so that you win the next time. So before you throw that "You Stink", think about what the real issue is and strive to do better the next time. And also realize that there will always be someone who will be able to beat you any given race. You simply need to focus your energy on your performance rather than waste it on someone who is focussing on their performance and not yours.

Test--To those who believe that test is simply for adults--How can you be sure who is an adult and who isn't. If you have the ability to divine that simply from gameplay then I hope you work somewhere that can take advantage of that gift. The real issue is not at what age can play but who is making an effort to "test." If my daughter can play and find problems, she has and does, then that is the purpose of "test". If reading and writing were a prerequisite for "test" or "TT" for that matter, this is one family that wouldn't be playing. For the simple reason it was my daughter, at that time 3 years old, who was playing on the Disney website and found ToonTown. Test is simply not the domain of a few honored elite but the realm of those who chose to play the role of testing new content.

To those who have been helping us in test--Thanks a million. Especially to Bizzy Dizzybee. You rock. You have spent an amazing amount of time helping us get past the critical tasks such as finding a key for Daisy's garden and Lil' Oldman tasks in the Brrgh. You are the embodiment of the spirit of test.

I am in full agreement!

My sons lost most of their interest in TT a long time ago, but when something new is released on Test, they like to investigate it. Sometimes they use a toon they made on my account, other times they use mine. By letting my sons do this, I was able to watch and learn how to navigate Cash Hq and the CFO. Right now they are having fun helping me earn tickets to upgrade my cruiser. They always tell me about any glitches they find.

I have several friends who have roadsters, they played long and hard to earn the tickets for it. They have told me that there is no appreciable difference in performance and that it is all appearance. I have managed to come in first in races against them, and other times I have come in last. None of my sf with roadsters are on the boards with top scores.

I am very disgusted with some behavior I have observed. I have seen my friends be told "I like your name", "No thanks" & "You're too fast for me". I truly hope that it is just jealousy I am seeing and not people on a witch hunt! At least one of my friends has become paranoid about being told this. I do hope that people are not jumping to conclusions, and are checking the boards before they decide to (possibly unjustly) report others as cheating/hacking. If people are, I wonder how long Disney will tolerate Testers crying wolf?

it truely saddens me to see Test become what it has!
to accuse someone of hacking and the fighting that is going on!

I avoid the races, not because of all that has been stated, but because i find it boring and a big waste of time (not to mention i stink at it ). Gosh, with a name like Furr Arri you'd think id be fast!

If you are gonna test..then test! report the bugs and glitches, its your duty to do so!

I was on test yesterday and out of the blue a smaller toon said: "I like your name". I got instantly paranoid. Was I being accused of cheating. My toon has ZERO record times, my average times are way below the records.

I have been doing a lot of racing so I have a fancy roadster but it is from time spent on toontown.

I am not comfortable on test any longer. I see way too much griefing.

Yes, Mike's Mousearilla does have a nice name and he is the friend I was referring to.

Unfortunately, the player in question did not appear to be complimentary in actions. I was there at the time and saw it myself. That toon left a race we were about to start as soon as he joined in. The bright side is that he and I raced with 2 long time friends after the rude toon left.

A word about griefing!

I well remember the social discord that appeared during the cashbot hq's development. It dismayed me greatly to see people 'dis' each other over a site that is obviously used for testing the program. I see it appearing again when someone laughs at you when you lose a race. That is very very rude, especially to a toon who just started in Goofy's raceway.

Make a note of this, the program has many glitches in it, and it is worse now than before the 2 day downtime just recently. I made 4 laps with 3 toons only to have my car stuck on the first lap each time because of a glitch in the program. And after the 3 toons finished, I was still on the first lap and they KNEW I had a gltich because I was usually in the second place position each time we lapped. But one toon had to laugh at me and call me a slow poke, and to hurry up. The glitch is frustrating enough without having someone throw such remarks at you, especially when you can't discern whether it is in jest or not. Folks, it is plain rude!

This is a test site. You are NOT the perfect toon with a perfect system at any given time. Relax! I"m having to because of the rudeness of people in the car races. Some people are actually testing the site, while others are on an ego trip to see who is best. I had several toons jump off a track when I entered the race only because they wanted to go alone and set a record. It didn't bother me so much of them doing that. It was the rude remarks they made to you when you innocently crashed their private race with remarks like, NO, go away! You stink! Folks, that record you set doesn't mean you are the best when you run with other folks and the gifts are used against you. Your record don't mean squat if you are running by yourself. Big ******** deal of winning a one car timed race. That is like expecting a trophy for qualify and getting NASCAR points. It don't work that way. Hee hee!

Okay! I've vented.
