Graphic cards and lag

I am curious about why some computers lag so badly and some don't.My ATI computer lags on open but not test.My older NVIDIA computer(7 years old) lags on test but not on open.I have seen many complain about lag in GSW and blame it on older computers and I don't think thats the case.My computer with a newer ATI graphics card is 3 years old and doesn't lag in test at all.

I think that there are several factors involved, including which graphics are supported by TT and which ones are not.

In trying to resolve a major lag issue of my own which occured after the doodle release, I installed a nVidia graphics card and disabled the IntelExtreme Graphics which was factory installed. I like to keep drivers up to date, so after the card was installed I upgraded it to the newest driver. The lag was sooo bad that I could not move in the VP at all and could only see action after every 5 seconds or so. After submitting a bug report, it turned out that the newest driver was NOT supported by TT and I had to roll it back to an earlier version.

Try going onto the Known Issues page and linking to the Graphics Drivers page to see if your graphics drivers are supported by TT. At least it is a first step! Good luck!

I sent in bug reports for my game freezing during a screen shot.
Their response to me was:

Dear Toontown Guest,

Thank you for your e-mail. We are sorry that you have been experiencing
difficulties playing Toontown.

It seems that Toontown has been having conflicts with the latest NVIDIA
drivers. Please revert back to the earlier release of the NVIDIA drivers
linked through our website:

We hope to see you in Toontown soon!

Thank You,

I got that too and I went back to the earlier release except it took me about 4 times to finally get it reinstalled because each time I spoke directly to live chat support since they have the capability to check our computer system.
Try talking to live support - and as long as you have sent a bug report in, they can check it thru the email address you sent it in with and if you haven't sent a bug report in regarding said issue, they aren't quite able to help out - and let me tell you - I have tons of transcripts speaking to live support.

I wasn't really complaining about my computers performance because I can switch around and have 2 other fast computers available.I was more curious about other peoples experiences with the different cards.
