My Mood:
The Long stomper room stinks

Is it just me or is it the intense graphics. Everytime I enter the room foyer to the long stomper room, I experience severe lag to the point where my toon gets stomped halfway to the next hole in the galley.

The stomper is too fast, penalty points too high and there is some reason for the graphic lag in that room.

I tried every trick I know, including disabling my AV program, none of which help at all.

No, it is not just you! There is no reason why I should not make it from one hole to the next but I always seem to end up stomped right next to the hole. Lag, I guess? I have decided to just make a run for it, I do better that way.

I think the points are way too high too. If they are going to keep them so high, they should put additional buckets of laff on the other side.

They may not be finished with this room just yet. The stomper used to be easier to time jumps in. The lag IS worse now, however still not that hard.

As to toonups on the other end, many do not seem to know there is a full compliment of barrels in the middle of the stomper room. Take a left about half way down the room and you come to them. They have recently reduced the number of barrels but there are at least two toonup barrels there and several gag up barrels as well. I am always happy to see this room since there are so few with extra gags in them and a long bullion run can run even maxed toons down fast.

Laff in the barrells to the side is only enough to make the detour not much worse on your health than going straight thru. The gags can help, although as was stated, they are not as attractive as they were at one point.

The lag is worse now. My fast computer is not affected badly, but my slow one is significantly worse. On the fast one, I can still make 80% of the holes if I take my time. On the slow one, I can only make about 50% of them.

As in the puzzle room, size of your toon vs. the view obstruction from the stompers is also a bit of a problem. To get in the right spot in the hole to see the next hole, you often have to position so you can't see the stomper very well to see when to jump out. Once you jump, you often can't see your toon at all.

I think they need to fix the lag, but I would leave the pain index the same as these rooms will encourage the low laffers to go back and build their toons.

The camera angle is bad in this one for me too. When I get on the platform (not in a hole) the camera view comes from above...looking at grey THROUGH the stomper. It isn't much help for seeing where I'm going. I have to position my toon from the view from the hole (assuming I actually land in one) and make a jump/run for it. IMO...they have some camera view tweaking to do.

One thing that will gain you an extra half second or so is this: When you are in the 'hole', do not wait until the stomper starts to go up before you jump up and out to go to the next hole. Jump up to go when the stomper is down you will find you will get to the next hole before you get crushed.

I never get a good camera angle, I have to literally rely on my Laff to get me thru! Although i did take my 46 laffer Poetic Mews in to help a freind with an Elder task for the Mint. She surpizingly made it! I had to take that one slow and steady! The Gags in the side peice were a temptation, but not enough to risk going sad and all my Friends hard work for naught!

I don't know if this will help but when i jump into a hole, I jump up at the next lift of the stomper and look to see where the next hole is and position my toon to go straight for it. Then when the stomper lifts again I can go directly to the next hole.

I position myself towards the next hole right away, then go for it as Master Chip Wonderslam says...since doing that I have not lost a laff, and I go for all the restocks!

I run right thru

View too much to mess with, I run fast and lose 32lp, t-up 10 at end, forget the gags.

I do as Zilly does, after in I get in the hole, I take a jump to make sure I line up with the next hole... then before the stomper starts to rise, I jump out... I play TT on two computers, on one of them I can make it with NO damage, on the other I usually get hit once or twice... I just take the "slow and steady approach" and I'm usually fine.

I'm not really having lag issues, but the camera angles are really bad. You can't see when the next one is coming down because it's way above your head.
I expect to just take the damage, it's temping to just whizz on thru without looking and take the scrinches. Lol.
