People do still play on it, just not as much. Disney is too lazy to actually check for bugs and crashes so they basically want us to do it. THATS CHILD LABOR!!!...ILLLLLEEEEGAL!!!... xD Of course there are older people on test...then thats...'people labor...'.
I need a hobby... 0_O |

The Test Server was not made for playing. It was made for testing.

They need us, they really need us, and that is why we are here. And by the way, I am of the older generation, being I'm a retired educator and in my 60's. I hardly ever play open now, because I am on test all the time. There are actually more people on test than you might think. I find that most often, late night is the best time to play. Of course, that is not an option for a lot of people, especially those who are in school. Like Colonel Chocoluck, I am retired, so I have time. I am really working hard on getting my main toon maxed so that she is ready for Boss HQ. If you decide to join us, and are accepted, we will look forward to seeing you! The people on test are different from those on open. If you go to sellbot hq with your brand new suit and there is a vp group forming, you won't be automatically shunned. If they have less than 8, you will be welcomed. If they have more than 8, often people will call their friends so that a second group can go. Lately people have likened test to high school, with cliques. And while that can sometimes be true,I find that many of the testers are very ready to help any toon who asks. I tested that theory by starting a brand new toon without telling anybody who I was. I was very proud when I found that most toons acted nice to me, even when I intentionally used speed chat wrong, like a small child would, or used gags in a manner that suggested I was not experienced.I don't know what they said about me to their computer screens, but they didn't stink me. So I vote YES! it is worth it.

hey you made a new toon without telling me and I thought I was your best friend on tt just kidding marise I'm another one like madams I no longer play on open I love test to much and the people on there I'm another one who used to make new toons to see how polite other toons are you find a lot of real nice ones there are some that plays during the day but I notice there's a lot more at night and as far as vp, cfo, cj, I have no problem doing any of them we also have certain events that helps a great deal its a pleasure to be testing things on test is it worth I say absolutely. Its a small community where everybody knows everybody and that 's what makes test a good placeLila Philly Blue Cat ( max sell and cash working law only) Delilah ( working sell and cash only) Angelique ( working cogs until Delilah done sell) eyeneeda sweetheart ( collecting dust) pigglesworth snortimer ( lost in mm) Philly Blue Cat II ( lost in dg looking for a way out) |

There are actually quite a few people on Test regularly. I also have been known to request help here, when I was stuck and had no one available to assist me. When I have posted a request for help, it was generally responded to very quickly.
As far as the usefulness of Test, sometimes problems don't appear until after quite a few people have been able to play for extended periods of time. I remember not long after Cash Hq opened, there was a rare problem with goons killing toons after the CFO left for his train. We kept reporting it, even after Cash Hq was on Open. Toontown finally listened and fixed that bug.

Test is the BEST!!!!
To answer your question “YES Test is very much so worth it”. Many of us have been on test for years and others are newer at it, but you will find that all-n-all we have no problem at all helping any toon or finding other toons to help us. If you are used to the mentality or playing style of “Open” then there are some things you may need to know to make it easier on test. This applies to anyone who plays on test.
1. If you need help with a task, don’t be afraid to ask every toon in any playground. - Even little toons will help with tasks or most likely they will get on their bigger toons and help. I know because Lisa and I do this all the time, as well as any of our friends, and I have done it on my baby toons. Many times the toon you ask may not be able to help right then but they may call a friend to help while they are away or busy. The key is to ask for help. Don’t just try to follow toons around and try to jump into Bldgs or ask every toon you see to be your friend (friends lists are too small for this), this will only get you the cold shoulder and not get you the help you need. We testers will help any toon no matter how big or small. 2. If you are looking for a group to do a VP, CFO or CJ battle and there are not enough toons in the HQs, then jump around to the playgrounds and Speedchat “Let’s go fight the VP (CFO or CJ)”. - If they have their merits/bucks/JNs they will know to go to the respective HQ or get on a toon that can go. If there are more then 8 toons at the HQ for a boss battle then we have no problem splitting into 2 or even 3 groups. The VP and CFO are easy enough to do with 4 or more toons as most of us have done them both many, many times this way. The CJ battle can be done easy enough with 6 or more toons that work together well, as most testers do. The key is to ask for help and to know how to let other toons know you want to get a group together for a boss battle. I hope this may help you, and others, a bit as to how test works and why test is such a great place to play, have fun and relax while helping make TT a better place for those on “Open”. Test wasn't designed for people to "live" there. As, they reserve the right to cancel your account or your toon at any time. That would just stink. We've deleted bigger toons and started with smaller toons. Simply because of new species coming out. So we are just there to look for the bugs with new things ... we stay away from the cog hq's after the suit requirement is in place. We couldn't survive in Lawbot anyhow! LOL But it was fun trying. We applied, and then forgot about it. Played the game that we actually pay for. One day... we received our email. Then a couple of months later, another. But not for the last two. We visit often enough to keep our gardens alive and to check for updates to work on. Then, when the updates hit open, its time to shift over there and work out the remainder of the issues. Because they are there too. Sometimes we find our friends on test, sometimes we don't. When its slow, it can be very boring, not to mention difficult to complete tasks. But there is plenty to do, if one is there for the reason Disney gave us the account for in the first place. So yeah, we think its totally worth it, after all it is a complimentary account. But that's just us and our 2c |

Also keep in mind that the Maintenance Updates can still cause new bugs.

You're entitled to your opinion ...

That's you're opinion, and you're certainly entitled to it - just as I am to mine. Makes no difference to me wether you agree or disagree. Back to the original posters pose .... We work test for the purpose it was designed. We spend most of our time on the open server. And yes, we still think its worth it. |

I am often humored by posters who tell others what test is designed for. I have not yet been held to or even been asked to be held to a certain playing style or given instructions or given a list of duties to perform or responsiblities. What I have been asked to do is to "Report a problem," and upon release of certain updates, I have been asked to focus on trying them out. We are not employed by Disney and our account is not free. It is provided at no additional charge. There is a difference. Let your open account go unpaid and tell me know how long you still get to play on test. Not long. IMO, it would be a big mistake to only focus on the new releases. Things don't always get discovered immediately. What testers have agreed to do is to allow Disney to gather technical information regarding crashes and bugs from our systems and to submit that data. I believe we are there to have fun and to enjoy ourselves, and in the process we try to help with issues in exchange for getting to try everything first.\
As far as test being worth it, absolutely. If you are new, it takes patience. Don't be shy about asking to be friends, that toon probably wants to be your friend too. Read this forum, look for schedules of events and participate in them when you can. We are here to play with. I made a black cat last Halloween, and he got his 3rd key (Law) about a month ago. So we are here, and we do battle bosses. I almost never play on open anymore (sometimes, only if test is down) and Disney doesn't seem to have a problem with the way I play. All I tend to get from them are emails thanking me for submitting reports and to keep it up. |

Love Test
I love test, one reason it isn't crowded - you get away from annoying people - you can work alone or with a group - VP, CFO and CJ's are all on a schedule - Easier to make friends, less YOU STINK's = Lots of JB's given for free to tiny toons - Help a toon days - etc. etc. etc.
I have not played in about a month - just going through some stuff and want or need to be left alone - I do not feel like playing or talking. But I LOVE TEST.

Test is very much worth it in my mind. I feel very privledged to get to play new features before they're released on open. I also enjoy the responsibility of finding bugs to report. Plus, it's fun to get to see how new features such as Lawbot HQ evolve on test.
