This is not a bug. If you are within sight of a toon (ie your line-of-sight is not blocked by a building or whatever), you will not see their name on the border of your screen (with an orange arrow -- "Toon Radar", so to speak). This actually happens on streets and playgrounds. Try it out in DL sometime on the bed.
Turning away from the toon or opening the schticker book, as was suggested, will make the text appear around the boarders of the screen. It only seems like a bug because the area in HQ is very wide open and if you're "in view" (X, Y coordinates only) of a toon, you will not see their text on the borders of your screen. Unfortunately, they do not take into consideration the "Z" axis (verticle elevation) so if you're simply facing the direction of a toon, but he is directly below you, you won't see his speech text either.

I see what your saying Max, but have you experienced this bug yet?
see the pic I have attached, this what I was seeing as soon as my hubby got engaged in battle with a cog. Unfortunately I do not have the pic of where me and hubby were very very very far away. We were on one of the walkways attached to the factory outside of the piperoom heading to the lift to go up top. One view I had was us on the walkway but like I said, very very very far away. I couldn't really see us. Then I got this view, and I couldn't see anything. Hubby was like "go left, go right, go straight now" I never did make it to the battle. I tp'd back to sellbot pg. |

That is exactly what happened to me!! I could see the other toon but I couldn't talk with her because the text was far away.

No no no.. it's definitely a bug. It happened to me too.
One instance I was with the other toons in my party, the next I was engaged in a cog battle. Then, I was thrown out of the cog battle & was far, far away from them in the black abyss & had to run thru the abyss to an area of HQ to get onto stable ground. I was then thrown into & out of a cog battle repeatedly but I couldn't see the cogs. No gag selection screen. I could walk around to find my way to where I needed to go but then I would be thrown back into he battle where I would take a hit but no gag selection. My gag selection screen finally came up & I ran from the battle back to Daisy Gardens PG. When I TP'd out, I finally saw the cogs I was "battling." Hmm... I sent a bug report but perhaps they would understand better if they came here. lol Laurie

I posted this in the update thread:
Well today while playing I ran into a nasty lil bug.
Remember before only one person could engage the group of cogs or the client crashed? We tried that today and that was real bad. If only one toon engages the cogs, you only see their view. You cannot see where you are or where you are going. Happened to me three times today, unfortunately it resulted in a toon going sad cause I couldn't find my way to battle. It was the top floor and the cogs lined up in the shed like Ugly Marigold said, and I was on the outside of the shed, and couldnt' orientate myself in, cause I didnt' know where I was in relation to the shed! I could see the dog in the battle but not me. The other 2 toons with me had the same problem. So the poor toon who engaged, had to battle all of those top cogs alone and went sad. I felt horrible. I sent that bug report into Disney. |

Yes, I was constantly having problems with this. Even to the point when I initated battle the rest of my group would be fighting from my point of view. Also upon approching a door all toons were drawn in but no one could fight. At first I thought it was just me having buggy problems, glad to know differently.
