Battling Cogs

When in a cog battle, is there anything that you can do to increase your chances of not getting hit by the cogs, or is it simply a random chance based on how many laugh points you have and how big the cog is?

It is completely 100% Random. Some cog attacks hit more than others, but besides that there is nothing you can do.

There is also not attacking at all so they have less of a chance of attacking you.

It is not random. The cogs will most likely hit the person who hurts them the most. other then that, it's random I believe.

Some people think by pressing Control(jump), you are more likely to jump out of the way, I haven't found any evidence to this being true, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Jumping does not work

Seems the only real thing that does is not attacking, when someone else does, then they still might hit you anyways, I never understood why toons think jumping works, I have never in 4 years seen it, if you think it might work, it's just coincidence.

The cogs attack the toon who has done the most damage. Unless you use lure you may not in any way keep the cogs from attacking you. Sometimes I believe that using Ctrl -your jump button- will improve your chances of not getting hit. But that's just me.

If nobody attacks they might attack the weakest toon or the toon that has done the most damage throughtout the whole battle. Read some of the loading tips; they might hold valuable info.

Only way of not being hit (100% for one round of attacks) is by using the "Cogs Miss" SOS, witch can only be gotten by a vp run. Otherwise its completely random!

It definitely doesn't work. When my family and I were completely new to the game we tried it (not knowing it was random) and of course, we figured out that this doesn't control whether you're hit or not. So now I just watch and keep my fingers crossed.

Why would toons think jumping works? Perhaps that's because in lots of games, the character or whatever can JUMP out of harms way (or into as the case may be - like Super Mario). As a matter of fact - you jump to avoid damage from the bosses and goons.

If you aren't familiar with how TT works, is it really that silly to assume that you can jump to avoid injury when the cogs attack you?

Some people say if you do the side arrow keys a total of 5 times just before the cogs start to attack, it helps to not get hit.
Left Right Left Right Left

I dunno, sometimes I think it works and sometimes I don't think it works.
