New TTC Features: Profile Albums and Customize Profile

If you are a member of another of our sister sites, then you're probably familar with both of these new features just added to TTC. I've been waiting on a bug fix to enable both of these features here. Nick just updated vB, which is the forum's main software, and this has fixed any problems we've had in the past hindering us from enabling these features.

Profile Albums:
You'll now have this thing called profile albums. This is where you can store images directly to your profile in albums. You can use these to display images in your posts or PMs. The nice thing about this is that you can create a special album to upload images to use to customize your TTC membership profile.




How to get started wtih albums:

• Just go to Pictures & Albums ,which is located on your profile right column or in your UserCP, then click on Add Album.
• You can then add a title for the album
• Description for that album
• Then pick an "Album Type:"
  • Public
  • Private - Only visible to contacts and moderators <-this option isn't working. Everyone can still view your images. Waiting on a bug fix.
  • Profile - Pictures used to modify your profile style <-You'll want to pick this option to use those images as your profile background images.
• Once you have an album created, you can then begin uploading images to that album.
• You can upload up to 10 images at once.
• Image size is 600x600 pixels max and 100000 bytes.
• You can upload up to 10 images per album

Now that you've got some images uploaded to use for your profile's background, we can begin with customizing your profile.

Customize Profile:
Let's start by going to your UserCP and clicking on Customize Profile. This will take you to the options page to customize your profile on TTC. Background images must come from your albums.




The following is customizable:

• Text font, size, and color
• Border size, style, and color
• Background color or add an image as your background
• Plus, multiple areas of your profile which you can customize

There are the options of save your work or preview your work before you save. Preview will bring up a picture of what your profile will look like with your current settings.







To add an image for your background:

• Just leave the color for your background blank.
• click the icon which will bring up a box with your images stored in that album you've designated for your profile images.
• Click which image you want
• Then save.

It'll probably take some trial and error to get your profile the way you want it to look. Don't get frustrated. Just keep playing with the settings till you are happy with the way it looks.

Is there a way to change the green border on the Secondary Content Areas? It wasn't there in the past, and i think it looks a bit ugly when it's there...
And there is a picture on the tables at the right side, in the right top corner, and this pictures doesn't work for me...
It says the url of the picture is:
http://www.toontowncentral.com/forum...se_generic.gif
But instead of a picture, i see an X. Is that a problem with the forum, or a problem with my computer?

Is the border on my profile or your own? On mine, it was intentionally added that way for a klingon theme.

I see it on all the profiles, but now when i think about it, maybe it's also because of the skin.

OK, i tried to change a skin and there is no green border, so i guess that was the problem...

I am familiar with this feature.I had this feature on CPF and I might just bring my profile album to TTC.

Go to User CP> Customize Profile> at the very top you'll notice that it says...

Background images must come from your albums. Enter the URL to a picture in one of your public or profile albums.

Click on the albums link. Then click on the Click here to add an album and start uploading pictures!
If you want your picture as a background for your profile then be sure to check the Profile - Pictures used to modify your profile style spot.

Then you'll need to click the Upload Pictures button. After uploading the picture click on the picture(should be to the left) and copy the URL. Once you've done that, go back to the User CP and to customize your profile.

After that you'll paste the URL link into the Background Image. You can put the URL in any section when you go to customize your profile. Be sure that your picture was approved by a moderator before anything else. If you don't then it may say an error occured and you won't see your picture as a background.
