If you use paint, then use '
save as' and select JPEG or PNG instead of BMP. BMP creates large files and I assume is disabled by fact that it allows more space for everybody, allocation of pictures is very healthy, I have several folders in operation and still space for loads more. If BMP was widely used they may have to reduce allocations for all members by a lot.
If picture use JPEG it's fine for that, for charts and tables I use PNG, which does not blur edges like JPEG, but still produces a high quality and 10th of size of BMP.
I've never had problem with using either format for multiple guides.
