hmmmm.... i dont know who to agree with here. i do use abbreviated stuff alot like, "u" instead of "you" and "idk" instead of "i dont know"(i dont use "idk" that much). but if it comes to periods and apostrophes, i really dont care. i use a period only if im separating two sentences. if its the end of my post im not gonna use a period because u know its the end of my post so why bother with the extra period? lol. and apostrophes....i dont even bother with.....point being: somethings are easy to abbreviate and understand, somethings arent. im in a keyboarding class, and we get points off when we use u instead of you, so thats teaching me a little bit. if u take typing classes you will get used to typing words out and not abbreviating them because the teachers drill it into your head lol

Eh...It isn't that hard to learn. I taught myself. Before I started teaching myself, I was like this.
"hello how r u this fine even" But it really isn't that hard to learn. Just practice.

What is the point of that, this is my posting style, little text, and grey. Your saying, I should stop it, because it makes me have no *Personality*? Or I should just talk with in-correct grammar because YOU think it makes us robots? What is the point of that. It seems like most of us do. I don't really want to get into an argument, so I stated my point easily. For me, it is way easier if I read a post with correct grammar and spelling. I, as well as all of you can read a few typos/bad spelling, but when you can't read it at all because it is like 7 ]-[ | 2, I don't even try. I hit the report button if it's like that, actually.

You don't know how many spelling errors I see here. Talk about "maxxed." It is "maxed," my friends. (Lol, little pet peeve I got out there...) You think TTC hasn't got many errors?

So, if I am not mistakened, you are calling me a geek for typing correctly? :B

If that is true, visit us on #toontowncentral, first thing you will see by chance is a typo.

Like many users have said above, a forum does not mean you have to talk in l33t or have bad grammar. Would you want this entire forum to talk like idiots? Just think about it. How long does it take to capitalize a sentence, a comma here and there, maybe even a period once in a while. Not long. If you take typing lessons as school or your community college, you'd learn that it's very easy to type well. It doesn't take much effort at all.

I really don't see how we can be geeks if we type well. Most everyone on here plays some type of sport/activity. We've got real life friends, some people even have families to take care of. We may have learned how to type and talk correctly, but that doesn't mean we're bland.

I agree some what with you both..

I like good grammer and think more people should use it, but I can also deal with typing errors and shorthand without any problem at all. Just because someone takes the time to spell the way they should doesn't mean that they are geeky or bland (okay okay, I'm a bit of a bookworm but its not the samething is it?).

I just don't like it when people do stuff like this: gr8 and 4evr ect.

when someone talks to me using "txt speak", I dont immediately assume 'oh, what an idiot' and go about correcting everyone. Same as when if i see someone typing with full grammar, I dont immediately assume that they're clever and well... better than people who use text speak. It doesn't paticularly matter to me, although whenz pplz talkz lyks diz i duz get anoyed bcoz it can b hard to read!1111w32!11

I think when most teens/children get into using the internet, we all talk with txt speak lyk dis, but we kinda get used to typing properly... soon realising that it can be a pain in the butt to others. I, personally, type properly on forums... but when I talk to someone on TT on on a messenger I'll type lazily... abbreviating a lot. Cos I know my friends dont mind :L

People write normally so people can read it better. Not everybody understands abbrieviations.
