Wonder about age...

I was noticing. Some Mods are snapping that you can't say your age on the forums. But I noticed that at the bottom - It says your age for your birthday! It's like one of those loopholes...If we can't display our ages, why is it displayed down there?

yeah, i don't get it either.I mean, age is age.. It's not like age is very personal. I think there's a lot of people who share your age . It's just like if you want someone to know your age you say look in my profile. What's the point? I don'tget it, but hey, We don't make the rules here

Dosen't VBulletin come in PHP files, so you can delete the birthday PHP files?

there isnt a birthday file i have ipb and it would be in the profile php file. Since mine does not have a show age field by default, it isn't in the php file. but what you can do is open the profile.php file in your board ftp and find the age part and turn it to flase. for example, if i wanted to get rid of one of these, I would change it to false.

But i still don't see why age is such a big deal. I don't see anywhere on those safety sites that you shouldn't give out your age. What kind of security risk is that?

different, but not by much. VB and IPB are VERY similair, and removing a profile field would go the same way. Most likely even in phpbb it would be the same

Well, I agree with KB, why do we have a silly rule for posting ages? Let's say I was 21 (Not even close to that age). Now, there's more than thousands of people out there who are 21.

I don't see how much this protects us, to be honest. *Shrugs*

Just one more reason that i say our mods ROCK! WTG with the standards you set for our forum...just fyi~there are more reasons for confidentiality here and in TT play than having children present~~

PLW is a member of a Federal Witness Protection Program and can not reveal one single bit of personal info (ie, r/l name, age, gender, location, etc etc)~~I have often wondered why that exchange of info is even necessary when playing this game!~~?!?

So~PLW's name is Lefty and any information that u may think u know or have is completely false and has been contrived when the situation has arisen when a polite answer is appropriate!

Sometimes being a FWPP member can be lonely, so please be my friend!

Me too, I personally don't jsut throw my age out, only to people i've talked with before.
