Yea its a pain in the neck to redo all the photos, but the mods shouldnt have to re-do it. The mods shoud only edit a post if it breaks a rule. |

The mods are busy with moderating and things like that.

As a parent, I understand what you mean by it being the parents' responsibility to monitor their childrens' internet usage. I personally watch the content viewed by my children. Not every parent does. So the question is, is it our responsibility to monitor other people's children? No, it sure isn't. But it IS our responsibility to stand by our own policies of a G-rated site. Because of this, we can't allow links to those image hosting sites. It wasn't just R-rated ads that were seen - it was much worse. I think it's great that you never saw the ads. Neither did I. I had friends that did. They were apalled.
As for mods fixing all of the links - to do this we have to go in, find all of the images on the hosting site, copy it to our own hard drive, upload to our own safe image hosting site, then add the image back in. Not exactly an efficient use of our time. I did this for several threads about a month ago, fixing many of our guide threads for the game. I located, downloaded, uploaded, and fixed 68 images to fix some of our guides. It took me 2 weeks to do this between all of my other regular duties. You're welcome. |

I couldn't believe some of the images alone that have been uploaded to the aforementioned sites. Thank you Nick and everyone else for keeping it safe for our children.

look i know most of you DONT understand the importance of keeping to the image hosting sites you used to do, and you dont know how long we SSS makers spend, uploading our SSS, getting our lazy behinds out and pleasing you people with our SSS and having it thrown away! We do our part in giving TTC the joy of good SSS's and we spend like 27 min. (lowest) uploading pics! You dont know what its like to have that all thrown away. Plus we need to edit our SSS before posting and that could take an hour. Anyway im just mad that we have to redo our whole SSS. Last edited by Dizzy; 12-30-2007 at 11:56 PM. The easiest way to fix all this is uploading all images to the TTC Gallery, you'll never have to upload them again. As for us re-uploading the images, I don't think we're responsible for keeping up with images. That's the user's responsibility. When you joined this site you agreed to follow the rules, g-rated advertising is one of them. When you ticked the "I accept" box, you agreed to following that rule. We are truly sorry for all the trouble this is causing, everything would be a lot easier if this wouldn't happen, but it is, so we're going to have to work around it.

Think About it, no one really cares about how long it takes. I have a slow computer, I cant upload from the gallery. So i use one of the approved hosting sites and don't complain. This has been gone over plenty of times.

Many members are sad to see priceless memories from their favorite beanfest, a picture with your friend, or stuff that you laughed about no matter how many times you viewed it. There were countless threads as I recalled reading through and going through all sides of the situation silently. I'm sure we all realize how much we are all suddenly missing something in TTC now that the new rule swept here about these banned image hosting sites. There are still plenty of hosting sites to upload our images on. The one problem that we have is that we have to really work to get the memories and information back to TTC in order for others to view it.
TTC is an extremely lucky site with all of its doners and extra features it has compared to most forums. For one thing, we have our own image gallery! That's huge! Now tell me about another Disney site not owned by Nick that has its own gallery. We are really lucky to have great moderators and administrators who are willing to go through with their own time to approved the images when they could be doing something better with their time. Another great feature of this site is that we have our own arcade filled with more games than I may count! We have Trivia! Loads of fun times to spend here. The mods and admins care a great deal about this site and could be doing more productive things. We should be very thankful for what we have. I think we've put enough on their shoulders and they don't need another job. Sure, we would all like to see the SSSs restored, but that isn't up to the mods and admins, that's up to the user who creates them. About the parents choosing the appropriate hosting sites... Not all the parents are as active with their children on the Internet as some. We have to think about this and let differences behold. Besides, it's in the rules of how TTC is kept G-rated and that's the moderators and administrator's job. They decided which places are G-rated and which are not. I think maybe we should think about how much the mods and admins are working now, and that not every parent moderates their child on the Internet. ![]() |

Are you running out of space in the gallery? I'd be happy to make some adjustments to the gallery to make it more user-friendly or increase everyone's image space, if it at all would help. |

Increasing image space would be nice. Maybe you can also add a Gallery Subscription. Where you pay like 50 cents a month for x amount of space. Maybe double or triple the amount we have now for paying people.
And add just a little more for non paying people :-P And if your subscription runs out then your pics wont be deleted, but you will not be able to upload more pics. Or you can have multiple levels of gallery subscription. Where 50 cents a month = an extra 300 kb of space $1.00 a month = 700 kb added to the original amount of space, all users get $2.00 a month = 1500kb added to the original amount of space, all users get I know the prices and space need to be edited Edit: I found this Quote:

I'll have to talk to Nick about the subscription thing. He handles all the money. I doubt we'd want to delete anyone's images once they are into the gallery. Very few images that violate our policies get past our initial moderation of them. Think I've only seen maybe 5 reports since we've opened the gallery and most of those have been for comments (but we're moderating them too now). |
