Our site carries a G-rating. Often people don't read our policies to realize this. Our members are moderated for 3-4 weeks after their membership to protect our G-rating. If, during the time that someone is in moderation, it is apparent that they have troubles posting with our g-rating in mind, we can educate them on where to find our policies and help answer questions for them. This moderation period helps us monitor their posting practices.
Also, because we are such a large fansite, we get a lot of registrations for people that don't even play Toontown and they simply want to advertise something. This moderation period *usually* protects you, the member, from seeing these posts. Most often, advertisers will post these things within the first 3-4 weeks or not at all. We rarely have someone post advertisements past this 3-4 week period. ![]() |

Something I forgot to mention is that it usually shouldn't take "hours" for your post to show up. We have an excellent mod staff and things are usually approved/denied within an hour of posting them. We are all volunteers so please bear with us if it is taking unusually long, especially at this time of year that many of us have kids home from school and family visiting.

We know it's a pain for newer users, but it's an incredibly helpful tool for us mods and saves us tons of time in the long run. TTC is really a quite large forum and we can't be everywhere. This allows us to help guide some newer users having problems or even weed out the unwanted from even bugging everyone else here. Everyone may not like it, but it's far too useful for us. I seriously doubt we'll be changing this any time soon.

It does vary some. If I see a lot of posts by the same user in queue and they look fine, sometimes I'll go ahead and make them not moderated anymore. Or may be a case like xmas, I shortened the length to 2-3 instead of 3-4 weeks since I knew more people would be off school and work to help cut down the work load on the mods.
