Exclamation TT less strict than TTC?!

I've noticed that TT is actually A LOT less strict than TTC. On TT I chat freely without even thinking about it. On TTC, I'm afraid to post my opinion sometimes because I think it's just gonna get deleted. On TT I can joke around with my friends a lot too. If I quoted some of these things that TT is apparently just fine with, it would be considered "flaming" or "non g." -_-

Now what about live chat? On live chat I noticed that what would be considered perfectly normal chat on TT is breaking a million rules. So now if I want to talk at the speed of chat I'll just log on to TT. Because on TT we can discuss things we can't on live chat.

Also, I've never been suspended from TT.

This is just my opinion, tell me what YOU think.

Well I found TT chat very restrictive in many ways, and for US residents you now can never be sure what you say might not get you a 72 hour ban.

I now prefer Msn chat to talk with best TT friends.

Biggest problem I found with TT SF's chat is, that even if the game filters it you do not know for sure it has, it doesnt just filter the word in question, but does not send the sentence at all. Even though it shows your toon saying it on your screen, your friend may not see on their screen

Been plenty of times I've made witty remark, and realised that friend may not of got it, but cud never be absolutely sure if they didn't find it funny, or just didn't get it at all.

The not always knowing was very frustrating indeed.

At least on here, they block only the word in question orif they remove whole section or whole thing, tell you what you did wrong, so wether you agree with it, at least you know about it.

Thats my experience and comment anyways.

Hmm, are you talking about other forums vs TTC Forums?

I've always thought Toontown Central was 100x better.

I know it's only worse cause it's G-rated, but you do have little kids on this site.

If there's something I have to say that's not G-rated, then I find a way to post it differently.

I don't use this site to chat with friends, just to keep in contact with them, or to find out about updates in the game or talk about the game. I mean, it's a games forum, not a chat room, lol.

There's nothing special about other forums. To me, it looks like a mess, I don't know why. It just looks like a trash can and you have to search for thread you want.

Plus most of the mods and people here are really great.

I've been with this site ever since I started playing the game, and wouldn't switch for anything.

I am NOT talking about other forums! I'm not even a member anywhere but here!

I'm talking about how we can discuss things in game that we can't in toontowncentral.

I'd like to point out that almost every single post here is read by a moderator/administrator. Due to sheer volume, I would bet that not every single word of sf chat (and speedchat- most of us know how to turn that into non-g, too) is read by Disney. So while you may feel that Disney allows more, it's possible you're only "getting away with" more.

Disney allows "you stink" to be used on other toons. We do not. In-game, you can leave stinkers and likely never see them again, forget their names, and go on with your game. On a forum, that sort of back and forth would be recorded publicly, kept publicly, for all to see. A year later a new toon could discover a thread all about how much he stinks... He never had a chance to defend himself before, and now a year later he could resurrect the thread and start it all over. Would you enjoy a board where it's all about how bad everyone is? I wouldn't.

It all comes down to "Rules are rules for a reason." It's most likely that we're just better enforcers. I don't see that as a bad thing.

Also, there are sometimes I'm unsure exactly what the boundaries are when I'm saying something that DOES NOT get censored when I say it in game. This post is the perfect example:

Anytime you question why your post was edited or removed, you are encouraged to contact a mod for that forum, the mod that edited your post, or an admin.

It's funny, I've been a member of this site over 2 years and I've never received one warning... and I never even read the rules until I became a mod over the summer. I'd never even gotten a friendly reminder. I think one time I had a post edited because I quoted someone's post that was deleted, but I honestly don't even recall one of my posts being edited or deleted other than that. It's for this reason that I find it amusing that people think TTC is too strict. As it's been stated, we have a very wide range of members on this site and we must protect our younger members from certain things.

I can assure you that we don't ban people for no reason. Our rules are clearly stated here and if you choose not to read them, that's your decision. However, you did agree to follow our rules when you joined so if you don't, it's really no excuse.

As for chat, our rules are pretty much the same as on the forum. We warn people several times before we will set a ban unless it's a situation of cursing/vulgarity. If you feel you were banned unfairly in chat, you simply need to contact an admin and tell them what happened. We will review the situation and let you know our decision and why.

We really aren't as mean as you think we are; we are simply protecting all of our members. There is no possible way to make everyone happy and we understand that, but if we stick to following our own set policies, at least we can be sure we are doing our jobs.

I hadn't really thought much about this, as I don't use chat that often. But, I think the forums need to be a little "kinder" as you don't know who is reading it or how they will take it. You can take more liberties when chatting with a friend because they know you. Posts are different because they hang around and are often read in bits.

There have been times that I have wonderer why a specific post or thread was removed, but usually it's pretty clear when it crosses a line.

I am an adult, but my kids sit with me while I reply to the forums. They also play TT, sometimes on my toon. I hope that they will always have a positive experience in both places. I respect the work that the mods do, and believe they also show respect for the forum members.

Actually, they are right.

I agree with this, Disney does not read everything. They only have a word filter. Just because you "feel" like TT is less strict, you are wrong. You do not get suspended for saying, "E-mail, username, password" but on TT you do. They do not check every post so, they put that in the word filter so no one says any of those things. On TTC though, they check the posts so they don't have to filter it. Also, think of what you are saying..."TT is less strict then TTC" thats crazy, TT has a ton more rules than TTC and a ton more punishments. =O

Wrong, like in the quote above this one, "So while you may feel that Disney allows more, it's possible you're only "getting away with" more." You have a mod/admin staff in the live chat. On ToonTown they don't have tons of mods for every person on ToonTown. There is no way they could watch everyone at once.

Whenever Disney suspends people I take some time to think about it and they are NOT suspending people for no reason. I've never seen a thread/post about someone getting suspended without finding a reason for it. Look a little more closely.

This is just a little more of my opinion....

One thing to keep in mind is that we are not here to just ban people, or to make people upset; our job is to make sure this forum is clean and that EVERYONE follows regulations. If regulations were followed more faithfully, less posts would be deleted or altered.

If I find the thread, I will show how far they can go. One of my friends got in trouble on TT for counting the number of buckets she caught by using a bubble over her head. Is that a good reason?
