"Spamming" and "Irritating Posting Styles" Policies Updated

Our old policies on these were getting a bit out dated displayed here:

"Spamming" - "Spam" refers to posting identical and/or irrelevant messages to one thread or many different threads that has nothing to do with the intended subject that disrupts a thread or fills the message board with clutter. Mass PMing people you don't know or who haven't invited you to PM them, boosting post count, excessive bumping of threads (you are allowed one bump per thread every twenty-four (24) hours!), one or two letter replies (i.e. ok, LOL, Yes, agreed, nods) and excessive use of smileys as a response are all considered "spam".

"Irritating posting styles" - Use of all caps (indicates yelling), caps/lowercase variances (I wAnT A sEcReT fRiEnD) and excessive punctuation (yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) are both irritating and sometimes hard to read.

Updated versions:

"Spamming" - "Spam" refers to posting identical and/or irrelevant messages to one thread or many different threads that have nothing to do with the intended subject, or posts that disrupt a thread or fill the message board with clutter. Mass PMing people you don't know or who haven't invited you to PM them, posting for the sole purpose of boosting your post count, threads with the sole purpose of posting "what I did today..." (this is a forum, not a blog or chatroom), excessive bumping of threads (you are allowed one bump per thread twenty-four (24) hours after the last post created in the thread!), one or two letter replies (i.e. ok, LOL, Yes, agreed, nods), and excessive use of smileys as a response are all considered "spam".

"Irritating posting styles" - This refers to posting styles which make it hard to read and/or comprehend what a user is attempting to state on their post(s). Mods and other users must be able to read and understand what you are posting. Use of all caps (indicates yelling), caps/lowercase variances (I wAnT A sEcReT fRiEnD), poor color choices for their text vs. forums background colors (such as white text on a yellow background), excessive punctuation (yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) or letter repetition in a word (Woooooooot!) are both irritating and sometimes hard to read. These types of posts will be removed from the forums or edited by a mod.

I want to leave that up for each mod to decide on their own. We have some stories made completely with smilies, so lots of them there are ok. Posting nothing but smilies in other areas can be annoying. Posting a few here and there can add humor to a serious post. We've all seen the post with 10+ smilies at the end of a post, which is completely useless and just annoying. With so many variables, each mod can make the call what is excessive and what isn't given the nature of the thread and where it is posted.

This would also apply towards repetitive letters and exceesive puncuation.

Talk about it lol, 1 time I saw like 20 smilies in a post but a mod deleted it.
Thanks for all this info this will help people stop spam (I hope )
Also someone should maybe close this thread due to people so angry about this happening they put thousands of smilies then say HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT?!
Lol you never know though......
