New Policy - English Only

"English Only" - The moderators/administrators and other users must be able to read and comprehend your posts. To ensure this, we ask that everyone posts in English. All mods/admins are able to read and write in English. ToonTown and VMK are both primarily English games by Disney and therefore setting a common grounds of communication so there is little reason to be writing in other languages on these forums. The only exception are the international forums on TTC as these are forums for the International ToonTown servers who speak other languages. You may also write in other languages to your friends in PM. This applies to PMs to mods/admins, arcade comments, gallery comments, Userpages, user profiles, posts, and threads titles.

i'm actually quite surprised this has not been a policy from day one.

Most internet forums will have that as one of their first 5 Site Terms and Conditions...

it makes it a lot lot lot easier for the administrative staff to spot abusive language and trolling posts..

English is also the most widely used language on the internet.

/me applauds

Could you rephrase that? I'm not quite sure what you are asking.

Common abbreviations is fine to use. Over using them in a single post might fall under irritating posting styles.

I think he means this.

You know how there are the international forums? He's asking if the languages that aren't in the International forums are ever going to be allowed to use... I think.

I wouldn't see why we'd need to post in other languages. TT international servers are for some of the more popular languages in the world and the rest is for English. I feel that should be enough. Though you may PM your friends in other languages.

These words are commonly used in many places around the globe and most people know what they mean. If you look them up in any English dictionary, you will find them included. One of the great things about English language is that it has continued to adopt and include additional commonly used words and phrases from other languages for centuries.

Haha. Nice try, but it's still English.
