Lightbulb Suggestion for Nick: What if we had a interview with a Toontown dev on OUR site?

A while back, the lead developer of Toontown gave an interview on another site that had negligable Toontown content. The person handling the chat picked out questions at random, and and almost none of the questions we had been dying to ask him were selected. It was quite frustrating. So here's my suggestion:

What if Nick e-mailed Toontown, introduced himself as the manager of THE LARGEST Toontown fansite anywhere, and asked if we could schedual an interview of our own? Our mods know the questions that we're dying to ask, so they'd be able to pick out the best ones. And since this is TTC, it would give the Toontown devs a chance to reach hundreds of TT fans instead of only like 50.

It would be just like Disney to not respond to ours, while granting that other site an interview, but I think it would definitely be worth a try. Could an admin please respond to this?

I cannot speak to the selection process that took place during the developer chat, but I can speak to the site you are referring to. It is not "obscure" by any sense of the meaning of that word. I am a member of that site as well and find some really good things about it that make it easy to use and user friendly. I know you post here a lot but before you judge something, you might want to check it out for yourself!

I disagree, If disney found out that secret friend codes are transferred from this site to other people they would sue Nick.

but that is technically not breaking any rules. in the Secret friends web log, it says that Secret friend codes are to be discussed outside of the game, and technically this is "Outside" the game of Toontown.

That would be interesting. You would think that some Toontown Dev would have found out TTC by now.

You are misrepresenting everything with your comments. How about I clear up your mistruths?

It was not an exclusive interview. It was a House of Commons event. That "obscure gaming site", known as Stratics, does many of these a week (I just attended one for TSO this morning). Stratics is a news/media site, ran 95% by volunteers, and is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. I think they know what they're doing at this piont.

The people handing Greg questions were me and Preston, part of the IRC Stratics team. We did NOT hand pick anything for any reason. Some of the things others wanted to know were not what you wanted. That doesn't make them less important to anyone but you. Sometimes, the devs want to field questions about a certain topic/update/event. Greg chose "anything goes", and "anything" is what we got.

But, since you mentioned "exclusive interview", I'll close by telling you to stay tooned, because the Stratics Exclusives team has something up their sleeve.

First, thank you for clearing things up, but everything you said was beside the point. And if you view the reaction to the interview, there were many people who were disappointed, not just me, so maybe you should do a little research too. For example, I listed my questions by priority, but my question that was asked was the one that was at the bottom of the list.

I agree that I misrepresented what I was trying to say. I simply meant that it has negligable Toontown content compared to TTC and is obscure within the TT fan community.

Plus, I had never heard of it, so it must be obscure.

But none of this has anything to do with the topic of this thread, so let's terminate the discussion.

Well IMO I think that would be a fun idea. It would be hard to sue someone over the internet without a lot of info.

Its called IP Address. You can download a program and enter the website's domain. And it will give you the creator's IP address. And using something else you can track someone down exactly. I have not sued anyone before. But I do have a few people's direct address because of carelessness.

This thread is getting WAY off topic. There's been only one post so far that's been on topic.

Personally, I like the idea. But since TT Devs don't want boards swapping SF codes, probably not going to happen.

Sorry to get off topic again, but if the TT devs didn't want a board swapping SF codes, don't you think SOMEONE would have reported it by now and that section of our forums shut down?

On topic: I love the idea. It would be just the thing to tide us over until the next release.
