moderation queue?

Apologies if there is already a thread for this, but as I understand it, it's 1-3 weeks after registering that my account should be out of moderation queue - it's been 3 weeks...so...? Maybe I'm just being impatient, but this sort of thing is a bit new to me. Please enlighten!

It varies a lot when new users are moved on to not being moderated anymore. It mainly depends on how much time the admins have to do it. Not sure when it was done last, but it's about time to have it done again.

Just out of curiosity (not to be a pain) but why is this done? Is it to make sure that people aren't signing up to start trouble or...?

Some people like to join just to spam or place advertising on the forums since we're such a big site. Plus, it let's us watch newer users to make sure they are following our policy guidelines. Spammers and advertisers are banned, while most normal users learn our policies in the few weeks they are moderated. It has really helped cut down the work load on the mods and caused less disruptions on the forums for everyone else.

I've updated several newer users over to not be moderated anymore, including yourself. Enjoy the forums.

I am still in Moderation, and I have been on for 3 or 4 weeks. Just wondering. I have been visiting TTC for several months tho.

I'm sure you'll be in the next batch to be unmoderated. You just must have not hit the cut off date this time around.
