Clear your cache and cookies. That should help stop getting the error message.

After quick search about DDOS attacks, I wish you guys lots of luck.

Why is it that people who are so smart to create these types of destructive things don't apply those skills in doing something good? Technology is where we are today and is where all the money can be made....If I had those kinds of skills, I'd be rich! lol

Actually, doesn't a DDOS mean that someone makes many connections to the server to try and 'overload' it, to make it go slow or even shut down entirely?
That's what I've heard many admins say...

And the smiley thing happend because in userpages there were many smilies and small pictures and such that could be loaded quickly on fast computers.
And since they banned any I.Ps that made many connections to the server, alot of people who looked at userpages were blocked out.

But the smiley thing was fixed.
I REPEAT, IT WAS FIXED.

In the first place, one smiley was about 999 smileys short of an I.P Ban. But apparently people don't like to read entire threads. =/.

99% of the userpages will not be a problem for anyone.
And if your 'puter doesn't load the smilies page in under a second, it is slow.

That's what I've heard many admins say...
From what I gather, in a DDOS attack (stands for Distributed Denial of Service, just 'cause I love learning new stuff!) the administrator of the attack sets out to infect 100's or 1,000's of unprotected, unsecured computers by way of a virus or trojan of sorts (MyDoom is an example of this--something I did not know until today) These compromised systems now carry out the task of flooding the server(s) of the intended victim. Example: You or I inadvertently get a trojan downloaded onto our computers. It contains DDOS code. Now this code that has installed itself can be either remotely manipulated or have instructions built-in to carry out the attack at certain specific times or intervals. There's more to it but I'm not that technical and my eyes started watering after a few pages of reading, so I stopped but that's the jist of it.
