It's to keep track of how many posts you have posted...?
Well, there are post counts for (I'm pretty darn sure) every forum. Whether you'd have 1 post or 10,000 posts, it is there to keep track. I'm guessing they mean by "post count not mattering" by it doesn't matter what your post count is. Someone can have 400 posts and another can have 1,000, yet we're all still able to post equally. |

And some posts aren't counted in post count.
Posts in the RP area... Banned posts... Posts in other certain areas... We also merge posts when people post multiple times in a row. Post count has no practical value. You get no special priviledge from post count. It doesn't show how long you've been here, it doesn't show how useful of a member (quality of posts) you've been. It's simply something which most forums use and by general internet usage we've left in place.

I probably know what some of you are thinking. You want a prize for posting a lot. But no offense, but anybody can post "congrats!" 4,000 times.... I'd rather have 1,000 posts that are actually useful and bulk than a bunch of posts that are'nt considered spam, but really aren't needed. Whether people deney it or not, some people just say stuff that is'nt really needed but they want a high post count...
