Suggestion on adding new policies

Suggestion:
all new policies/rules should be made publicly known to the board. If a mod/admin decides to make a new rule, he/she should put it in a rules/policies thread, and not expect the users to automatically know the rule if they dont
EX: An admin/mod should not be able to come up with a new rule, post it in a thread that has hundreds of posts, get burried by newer posts, and still expect other users to know the new rule

This is in reference to a policy made a while back, that was then burried by hundreds of new posts. Yes, the policy has recently been added into the appropriate place, but in the time between, many users were banned

I believe that if rules are to be followed, they should be placed in the appropriate place, and not in some place that few people visit, and STILL be expected to know that said rule exists

I know that in the past few years, when a new rule was made, it was placed in the correct place, thus making a persons argument of "I didnt know it was a rule" mute. But when a rule is placed somewhere random, the person truely does not know of the existance of said rule. It isnt in the rules and policies area where it should be located, thus making it impossible for the person to know of the rule

If this is already a rule with the mods(which in my mind, it should be), then I believe it should be restated to all mods that they can not ban/"ground" users for not following rules that AREN'T in the correct place.
I know for a fact, that in the real world, something like this could not occur. If, for example, there is a "no parking" sign that is hidden beneath the leaves of a tree, the person who parked there can not be convicted. The judge would throw away the case.
This is the same with what has occured. The fact that a rule is hidden (or burried by other posts) means that the person who broke the rules can not be banned

>_< okay, I sound a little like mojo jojo there, with the repition of my statement, but you get the idea

For example, maybe. But there may be other policies made by other mods, that are burried beneath posts. And if those policies are to be enforced, they need to be made public by being put in the guidelines section ( http://www.disneysonlineworlds.com/i...nd_Disclaimers )

It is just that Mangla is the only one that we know of for now, that has done something like this

First of all, the guidelines clearly state that an issue with a mod needs to be kept either through PM with said mod or brought to an administrator. I'm not sure it would do much good for us to make everything official if you choose not to read it.

Second, the one day suspensions that were given out for that thread were a gift to you. Before you get annoyed that I said that, you need to be aware of a few things:
1. The posts were OffTopic. In any other forum here, persistant OffTopic posting would earn you an official warning and then longer suspensions.
2. Those 1 day suspensions were not being tracked. We keep no record of it, Mangla instated that rule to make his life easier and send a point across.

Finally, the MS forum is extremely lax. If you would prefer to not have Mangla, I will happily spend a couple hours in there cleaning out threads to the standard we hold on the rest of the site, but there will be many warnings sent.

It's your choice.

I just like to use Mangla because he's the one that exagerates the rule the most, even though it was never put in the Rules and Policies section...

When i say exagerates, I mean makes you afraid to post in a stickied thread because it might be 'spam'.

CBD: I can understand a warning, but Mangla sends out 1 Day Bans on your first offense, no matter how minor it is.

(SNN, why is your User Title Grounded, when you're not Grounded? It confused me. x_X)

CBD, you're right the MS Forums ARE laxxed, but the stickies... Mangla like, dictates them.

Someone had a Level Up!!! on an EQ mage...
I asked what an EQ Mage was.

1-Day Ban because it was 'spam' and 'off topic'.

I think that's unfair.
I sent Mangla a PM asking why it was considered Spam,
He replied,
I stated very specific reasons why it wasn't spam...

He never replied.
My PM Box wasn't full.
I dont know if Mangla's was then, but still.

I understand that now, but...

I don't really think that an easily-handled 3 spam-ish posts isn't worth a Temp Ban. o_O

Why? I don't want to make a new thread, send a PM, or search the forums. I want my question answered here. It's remotely related to the topic.
