Prepare yourselves... It's coming.

Rep might be coming back. And this isn't just a wild guess. It's already back again on VMKF, TTC's sister site. Hopefully it will be monitored better and there won't be as much trouble with rep abusers. If you don't know what rep is, it stands for reputation. Other users can add or subtract your reputation, depending on whether or not they like your post.

Reputation Harassment: Purposely giving negative reputation to a user because of personal dislikes of the user or retaliation towards a user. This also includes soliciting other members to gang up on another user to give that user negative reputation.

Reputation Trolling: The act of complaining about being dereped for little or no reason or acts of telling people to falsely derep them about their posts is called Reputation Trolling.

Reputation Pity: The act of posting sad comments about their reputation so other users feel sorry for them so that they will give them reputations is called pity reputation.

These acts are not tolerated on ToonTownCentral.com or VMKForums.com. If anyone is caught misusing the reputation system or violating the Policies of this site using the reputation system, then the Staff will derep your account. Your threads, signatures, and posts will be deleted and you will be suspended from the site for a time period determined by the Admin/Moderator team with possible permanent suspension.
Just thought I'd remind everyone of the rep rules ahead of time. ^^

Wonder if it will be back here. Pretty sure if it does, they'll see how well it does on VMKF first.

I thought they removed reputation for good because it was causing trouble, such as flame wars and stuff like that. I hope they did something to it so it won't start fights again.

They never said it was permanent.

I wasn't on this forum when reputation was here but I've heard that it was kind of bad... I want to see how it is though.

Rep was bad news. People would de-rep someone for no reason and mass-de-rep(meaning, doing it constantly with other friends to someone) for no reason.

I really don't think it should be back since it just caused problems.

I liked rep a lot. I ended up with very little, but I figured I was ok when it was stoped. Its true that there were probably too many people who randomly de-reped people, But I had more people give me rep for a reason, then random de-reps. Of course the most unfair part is when you are one of the CCG people. I think people got way too much fame from that. That was the unfair part.

Oooh....Rep? They have that on another site I go on. There is a lot of spam rep, but on the other site, there is a sticky thread so people can report spam reps.

Cool!

Well, a lot of the problem was Rep Jealousy. People were mad that a certain group of people had much higher reputations than the rest. It cause a flaming war which eventually lead to rep being removed.

I didn't like Rep AT ALL. It made me feel more pressure about things I post, thinking "Will someone de-rep me if I say this?" Even though what I was going to say was allowed some people just might not like it. When I first joined someone took away rep from me for "spamming" even though I wasn't spamming at all and I'm sure of that. After that I didn't want to bother with posting anything so I didn't post here for a VERY long time. I started posting again after they took away rep, becuase I felt more comfortable speaking my mind.

It did get out of control and basically if someone either didn't like you or what you posted they de-rep'd you. I was de-rep'd for posting 100% truth but I really didn't care. There were even nice people who saw the de-rep and went around adding rep back to even out the score.

Then when you got into a good post about strategy or something similar you would get de-rep'd by the the poster you were disagreeing with and their friends who came along.

Rep when used properly is a good tool but IMO I don't think it belongs on TTC because of the diverse age range here.

If it does return I will still post my opinions, disagree with posters, and basically tell how it is....in other words..."Let's not sugar coat it!"
