How do you become a mod?

I know there are threads of this already but I'm just wondering. And I got one other question....How many mods are there?

To become a mod you need to
Have no warnings
never ask to be a mod
always helping ppl
correct grammer all the time
know the rules inside and out
know about tt inside and out
~~~~~~
There is much much more but this all I can think of.
