Interesting...looks exactly like you took it off an FAQ...but i looked and its not....so nice work.

especially with the "Can my young child do this alone or should I supervise?" question...

Cool

The Cold Callers Guild sounds extremely helpful and I'm trying it out tomorrow, thanks! Oh and someone might want to edit the url for the CCG since it's now located at http://www.ccg.toontowncentral.com/ just so ya know.

After reading this thread, it makes me want to join the group on my 3rd toon.

I could help on pixanator, since he is maxed in sell and cash.
His stats are: RB50/HW50, tu, trap, lure, sound, throw and squirt.
He has 119lps, 66fish (never gonna get 70 cuz I hate fishing and I still need 10 more trophies).

My 2nd toon is RB40 and HW25, full on merits and cash to date. I don't know that I'd offer her as a helper because requiring the bucks and merits take me awhile since I'm not in too much a hurry to max her.

My 3rd toon: monkey power is 65lps (49species) with the following gags:
tu: 688pts
trap: no
lure: 981pts
sound: 4259pts
throw: 4874pts
squirt: 4336pts
drop: working for LOM but taking my time.

All pts subject to change

If this group is part of the CCG, then I'm disappointed.

I thought it would be helpful for new toons to have the benefit of my research so below are the questions I asked (primarily to Deputy Monty) and the links I found helpful.

How long does a VP run take?
Anywhere from 25 to 45 minutes, on rare occasions it can take longer.

What is the VP battle like?
As many as 8 toons enter the elevator to battle the VP. When you arrive, you are split into 2 groups so it is recommended that you have the elevator full of 8 toons so there will be 4 toons on each side.
There are two cog battles. Right after you meet the VP you will battle 12-16 cogs ranging in lvl size from 1-12. The VP then climbs a ramp and you will once again be split into two groups as you battle about the same number of skelecogs ranging in lvl size from 8-12.
The third and final battle is a pie-fest free-for-all where toons try to stun the VP and push him over the edge. You are given all the pies you will need and you use the “insert” key to throw them. It is important that you jump when the VP jumps or you will incur damage. You can also throw pies at other toons and each pie that hits them will increase their laff by 1. This link is also helpful:

http://www.toontowncentral.com/forum...30&postcount=7

What happens if I have to leave before the VP run is finished?
If you leave while we are still fighting cogs, you will lose all your gags and laff but will retain your merits. If you leave between rounds, you will not lose or gain anything but your teammates might not be very happy with you.

Can my young child do this alone or should I supervise?
We have several young children who do the VP but, for the sake of the team, we recommend that you supervise.

What Laff level should I have before I try the VP?
There is no minimum laff or gag requirement. However, the higher your laff, the better your chances of surviving. Remember you could be faced with 30 or more cogs of which more than half will be above level 8.

What gags should I bring?
Fill up on all your top two high level gags. As a rule, the only level 3 gag that is worth bringing is lipstick. But, bring the best you have and be prepared to use them to compliment the gags already being used.

What if I’m low on Laff, can I still still go?
You should refill your laff before you go. It takes very little time and is the courteous thing to do. Most people do not appreciate having to heal someone in the first play.

I’m almost to the next level on a gag, should I get that first?
Depends on you, it’s certainly not necessary. However, remember that some of the most dangerous gags are non-maxed level 6 gags. You might preface your use of those with "Can you Help me".

I want to train a new gag, can I do that at the VP?
Gag experience is figured at 2x for the cog round and 3x for the skelecog round but, unless you are with just friends, it is not recommended that you train gags in the VP. The battles are too intense and your teammates will not be happy to help you. Use a gag that will help KILL the cog. If that just happens to be one you are training…GOOD. If not, don’t sweat it. Remember, you have to win to get that experience and to win you have to kill cogs.

I want to call my doodle while at the VP, what do you think?
Only as a last resort or for a laugh. Most of the time toonup of any level will help more and be more reliable than a doodle.

How many times will I need to do the VP before I become a Mr.Hollywood 50 and how many merits will I need for each level?A lot. You will need to win 76 VP’s to become HW 50. See merit chart:
Merits and Bucks

How can I get merits quickly?
The factory is the fastest place to get merits however, you will earn merits for any sellbot you defeat. A cog is worth half his cog level rounded up…so, if you defeat a lvl 5 and lvl 6 Telemarketer on the street, you will receive 3 merits for each of them. Bonus cog experience is figured the same as gag experience, i.e. 2x street value if you are in the factory or on the 3rd floor of a building.

I’ve decided I want to do a VP run with the Cold Callers Guild, when are their runs? For a schedule go to www.ColdCallersGuild.com . Check back with them occasionally as their schedule does change from time to time.

Where do I meet with the Cold Callers Guild before a run?
Meet in the pit at Sellbot Headquarters of the designated district. Plan to get there about ten minutes before the scheduled run. This group is very friendly and social, so say ‘Hi’ and pretty soon you’ll feel welcome.

Now I’m ready to enter the Elevator and meet the VP…
http://www.toontowncentral.com/forum...866#post708866

Is there an ideal mix of toon levels for a run?
It’s best to mix levels of experience but you cannot always judge a toon by his suit. Many people are returning with new toons after completing their HW suits on previous toons.

My friends all want to go too, can we all be in the same elevator?
Up to 8 people are allowed to go. It is recommended that you do not go with less than 4 since you will be split into two groups for each battle.

How will I know which gag to use?
Follow what the others do but use enough to kill the cog. If possible, save your biggest gags for the second battle as that is when they are most needed. Do not be afraid to pass if you gag is not needed for the kill and everyone is tooned up.
Do the math. The formula for cog damage is… level of cog +1 times level of cog + 2. For instance. A level 9 cog requires 10 x 11 damage or 110 damage to kill. (there used to be a chart but I don’t know if I can find it anymore). This formula is true for all but level 12 cogs. They require 200 damage to kill.

Someone told me ‘lure left, hit right’ what does that mean?
Many times you will have low laff toons with you. They cannot take damage like high laff toons so, to protect them we use the above strategy. One toon will lure the new cog coming in, and the others will take out the cog on the right. When this is done correctly, you will never have cogs wake up as goggles and $10 poles will hold them long enough for them to be rotated to the right for destruction.

I really want to use drop because I just got it, will that be okay?
Not a good idea. Go train drop in Toontown central on lvl 1 cogs. It’s best to use a more reliable gag.

I’ve heard about a pie fight, what is that?
The last part of the battle is where the toons attempt to stun the VP and push him over a ledge. He is stunned when he turns red and has stars around his head. At that point, you can throw your pies at him. You get the pies from the caged toon you went in to rescue.
.
What’s an SOS card?
Your reward for rescuing a clerk.

I looked for a post of my victory and it wasn’t there, who reports these?
Registered Cold Callers Guild members report runs. If you do not see your run, and are registered, enter the information you have and report it. If you are not registered, just enter all the information you have in the day-specific thread and ask someone to do it for you.

Below are links to other posts I found very helpful:

How do you get promoted, I am ready for promotion but I don't know how to get promoted. Someone told me that you need to defeat the VP but I am to weak. Do I have to fight the VP? If I do, how do I do it? Sorry if its a simple question and everyone should know the answer but I don't, Sorry!
