Yesterday's VP run. I'm still kinda mad

I'm a Cold caller level 2. Yesterday my bear girl friend (66) and I'm 77 laff went to hit the VP. I had MAXED throw, squirt and sound weapons and SAFE drop.

We got into the 8 person elevator and I thought it was gonna be oka. In my row, 2 toons were over 100.....me at 77 and some toon at 39 (mouse).

Our "team" was really bad, no one offered leadership and there was mass confusion. No one would toon up the hit people. I got hit pretty hard and was down to about 33 and 2 others were low too. The over 100 was just doing his/her own thing and not cooperating.

The 39 toon was a joke and didn't have a clue about the battle. He had only medium weapons. We used SOUND to kill the cogs and this 39er who didn't have LURE kept squeeking LET's USE LURE. It was annoying. I finally said NO!! when he started squeeking about lure. I don't know why he wanted LURE because SOUND was working.

I then tooned up everyone (but myself) and said "STOP HORSING AROUND" and the saying USE TOON UP!!!! I guess that got everyone's attention cuz we all got tooned up to our max level.

(I was MAD at this point. Here I have 3 terrific weapons and I was gonna die cuz my team was lazy.)

I finally sorta took charge (someone had to) and used WEDDING CAKE and GEYER and we were able to defeat the first round cogs.

Second round went really good.

The horrible pie part of the battle is where I went sad Our 8 person team was all over the place. No one helped anyone and pie them when they were low. I tried the JUMP when the VP jumped but got really low. I finally went sad.

My girl bear friend ignored me. She was at 5th level so she knew much more about this battle than me.

It's Funny.....real funny cuz the FIRST time I went into that place....our team defeated the VP!! The last 2 times, my team has lost.

Kinda makes me feel like I DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS PART OF TOONTOWN cuz I'm always on a losing team. I'm pretty competitive and I don't give up in battle.

I'm Just wanting to vent a little!! Thanks and I hope I learn more about this battle on this forum. You people are great.

Patricia (pale yellow cat girl 77 laff)

I have 108 laff and am still a cold caller. It's really hard to win in that battle due to severe lack of experience. Usually my team doesn't even make it past the cog battles. That place is absolutely swamped with low laff low gag toons who don't know how to play the game. It's pretty near impossible to get in the elevator with a good group. I seriously think there should be a laff limit on that elevator. I know ubers want to go in and that's fine and dandy but there are far more low laff low gag inexperienced toons gumming up the works than there are genuine hard working ubers. So really. That might sound mean but that's honestly how I feel. I too am sick of never making it through the vp due to lack of TT experience and poor gags.

Well this does not sound like any CCG run I've been on before!

It would be interesting to know the suit levels of your elevator and are you absolutely sure it was a CCG scheduled run? Of course, the CCG officially only guarantees to get you on an elevator and into a battle - the truth is though that all the CCGers I know would do everything and anything within their power to ensure that all toons dance as well! Most of them would even die trying!

I've made a note of your name and I will look out for you at the next CCG VP I go to (probably the 3.30pm (CT) run today). I cannot guarantee getting into an elevator with you because if we get separated Pood does NOT jump ship and neither should you but I will make sure you get a full load.

Knowing my colleagues, there will be many CCGers who pick up on this post and will also be making a note of your name so do not be surprised if you end up surrounded by Hollywoods at the next CCG run you do!

See you in Boingy Summit sellbot pit!

Maybe I mis-typed or you mis-understood. I didn't say it was a CCG SCHEDULED RUN.

I meant I'm a cold caller level 2 toon. (If I goof up, I'll edit my note okay?) I know the CCG people are cool and I'd like to join the group. For some reason my membership hasn't been approved.

Hi there. I agree with you. I wish there was a laff limit on the VP battle too. It's possible to be a low level toon, get your suit and not know how to battle. I've been in sellbot headquarters a couple times the past few days and both battles there was a "tiny toon" with low laff. Both people didn't wage a battle....they let the bigger toons to it.

I KNOW that everyone isn't like that!! There are LOTS of low laff toons who are terrific players and really know how to "whoop" the tar outta the cogs!!!
The player in my battle didn't help us so much though and I agree with your statement about being swamped with low laff toons.

Is it like that in all headquarters??

The CCG doesn't require you to be a member to attend a run. We take whoever shows! I'll stick myself a note on the monitor to come to the next VP and do my best to load with you. Probably on Taffy, a HW50 black cat. See you there, I hope!

Its too bad you had such a hard time on this run. Battling the VP is one of the more fun things to do in Toontown, but being a cold caller makes it hard to get in with a good group of toons despite your gags or Laff level. As has already been stated above, the CCG is really your answer. The mindset of CCG runs is different then random runs. There is a real pull to get the lower suit and lower laff point toons through the battle.

I was also very frustrated with the VP battle after several similar experiences when I first started. Thank goodness for the CCG. I was pulled through several runs despite my poor gag choices and inexperience. When you show up, you will never see more large suit toons in one place anywhere else, and unlike trying to get on the elevator in Nutty Summit or River, they are happy to load with you. I have seen time and again when a non CCG member jumped off the elevator only to be replaced immediately by a Hollywood 50. Many of the regular CCGer's will monitor your toon throughout the pie battle and will toon you up even if you are too preoccupied to ask. I have seen unities and level 7 gags used on multiple occasions to get a lower level toon through a battle with no real benefit to the high laff tune who used it.

All you have to do is get the schedule and show up. And if your jellybean bank is empty there are usually 2-3 toons who shower everyone with jellybean unites before loading. You might not win every time, but I cannot remember the last time I went sad and only rarely hear other tunes go sad on any of the runs I've attended. I have gone from CC1 to HW30 in 4-5 weeks almost completely with CCG runs. I am near to my Robber Baron Suit Promotion as well and have never done a non-CCG CFO run.

Good Luck and Have Fun.

TODAY WAS AWESOME

My doggie friend....Sheriff somethingorother....he is 105. We did the VP and won big time. It was awesome.

I used my wedding cake to hit the last big cog group and we won!!

He kept hitting me to toon me up with the pies but I didn't really need it. I have learned to JUMP when the nasty VP jumps and it really works wonderful.

I'm still so happy!!!

Patricia, the pale yellow cat who is NOW 84!!!!!

I haven't gone on a non-CCG VP run for several weeks. They are DEFINITELY the way to go, and I was a Mr. Hollywood before I ever tried them. (EDIT: I may have been a The Mingler when I first tried them - can't remember)

Wish I'd known about the CCG before I spent/wasted hours and hours of my time going with random toons. It's very hard to 1) get on the elevator with a full/good group and 2) win the battle.

Hope you have fun with the CCG!

Did you go to a VP in a crowded district or did you go with the CCG?

The first time I tried to go, I went at the wrong time. The times I saw are central time, and I'm EST, so I was an hour early.

CCG : Run Times!

This link has what I believe is the current, official schedule on it, down at the bottom of the first, long post. Read the stuff from the top - it'll help keep you from doing something stupid like jumping off the elevator, like I did. :-)

And then see the schedules at the bottom of that first post. This schedule is nice, since it has several time zones listed and you can be more sure you'll show up on time.

I hope this helps...

Well I get a bit nervous about the VP. I'll try it probably on Saturday.

I hung out with 50 laff toons today trying to get my 120 Boss. It was fun being with "teen aged" toons. Do many 50 laff toons do well on the VP battle??

wow i feel bad for you i can always find a good group (mostly!!) like today i went in with a group and during skelecog round, 2 toons died (they were stupid and me and one of the stupid ones only ones w/ tu) when it came down to me and tuless 108 (TYVM FOR BEING SMART). I still made it out of the cog round, and beat the vp.

--------------
have you noticed this; sometimes the vp is super hard is during pie round and then you run later that day he always has his little door thingy open. lol mood swings
