Little toons who "feed" off bigger toons

Ugh. I just did a factory with another 110 laffer and a little 51 laffer. I said when we went into the elevater I needed more merits - so if any of the two were not willing to do the full factory they should leave now

They both stayed, and we were fine for the first 2 set of cogs, where we were all sounding - then when me and the other 110 laffer joined the other cogs the other toon didn't join, so when the timer got to 0 we just killed them.. I didn't mind until he kept doing it - he wouldnt join until the cogs were blowing up, so he didnt have to do anything. I waited for him for one of the sets but he just stood there so I helped out the other toon who'd already joined the battle. He never said anything... but by this time I was angry... He was clearly using us - and that was made obvious when he joined us just before we were going to the supervisor. He danced having only done 3 sets of cogs.. (including supervisor).

Basically, what Im trying to get at is that these toons who thinks its right to just be lazy and stand there, not joining in the cog battles because they need a suit part or only 20 or so merits, while the other toons do the work. And I've come across quite a few while I've been working sellbot. Even if they're not contributing much, it's nice to help out. Grrr!

I agree with you, it's pretty frustrating. I've seen several 35-and-under toons skipping battles in the factory, but it's kind of surprising that a 51-laffer would do that. You'd think a 51 would know better. The factory's not THAT hard, and he's not likely to be in any danger in any one battle.

When I was working my first toon through Sell, I felt the same way. Then on my second toon, I'd look for others that were around my same laff and merit requirement to run with. By the time I got to my ubers, I decided that the toons that do this do not affect me. I would run two of my 25lp ubers together and whoever wanted to jump on the ele would jump on. Mostly they would look at two 25 laff toons and avoid the elevator, which suited me just fine. But there were the wanna be griefers that would jump on, then avoid battles thinking these two *noobs* would go sad. hehe

Anyway, in the end I learned a few things.

1) I pay for TT and have a right to play however I want as long as it doesn't negatively impact others who pay for TT.

2) A lot of toons are downright mean to any other toon under a certain laff, and I've come to notice that "certain laff" usually means under 100lp. So, if someone needs to defeat a factory for a task or just wants suit parts, but doesn't want to battle the cogs, that's fine. Stay out of my way and make sure you get to the end at the same time I do. I won't wait for you more than 1 clock countdown. But I still have no problem with you riding on my shirttails. If that is how you choose to play, he, you paid. Have at it!

3) Just keep smiling. As long as another toon isn't hurting your game play, why bother getting upset? You can't control the behavior or game play of others, but you can control your own emotional state. Don't rent space in your head to them. It's just not worth it.

Have fun! Toontown is a great community overall!

If you come across these toons again, don't let them go easily. Make them do something, or do nothing yourself to make them think they'll have to help. At least be glad they didn't run to the end and kill the cogs at the end before you got there. If they still don't do anything, just leave them alone and go with the others who will. Maybe they're new there and wanted to see the factory and have you show them what to do. You never know.

Im with you. When he joined a battle I would try to make the toon go sad by making the cogs attack him.( If he lures u do a weak sound) He will eventually learn once he died enough times. These people disgust me.

If they dont join three battles i am with sfs and they dont mind if we go out and do another fac without the toon so we go up to a cog set and last second turn and then go far far away and teleport out while the toon is still battleing waiting...

Yes, that is very annoying and rude to just be a freeloader like that. But think of this, they are really just hurting themselves. If they are only at 50 something laff they are probably far away from maxing their gags.. so they could be taking this time to work their gags but instead are just doing nothing. I really don't get why people do that since it is obviously better to try to get some experience points on your gags.

I am suprised that anyone even cares that a lower laffer doesn't engage in the battle. Most of the time they make it harder to get through the factory by waking lured cogs or getting angry when all the cogs are killed before their flower pot falls. If I am in the factory with another 100+ laffer and I need 5500 merits, I think it would be just fine if the lower laffer stays out of my way. As long as they don't delay the final battle or go in the center silo while I'm waiting for a cog invasion, I have no problem with this behavior.

It is the point that they are using for a free ride. People wind up with toons that have a cream pie just because they have to, where did building your gags go? When my toons were little it was not as easy, we would distict hop for invasions, do tons a buildings to build our gags. By the time we were 100 + we were maxed on gags aside from the last one. On top of which why should large toons kill all the cogs for a toon to get credit for a factory, when they did little to contribute? I personally have sacrificed, my time and merits to glitch to the supervisor, due to this behavior, however I have also happily helped carry through toons that were working hard to contribute. I treat toons in the factory the way they treat me.

The only time that kind of thing would bother me is if it were a toon with high laff and gags, appeared to be 'experienced', and was doing it in a manner to attempt to grief the others.

What are the chances it was a child who was scared? I'm not suggesting you would have griefed him/her and obviously you didn't, but maybe he or she had been previously griefed in the factory and didn't want to engage the cogs for fear of it happening again. A couple of friends working sell recently told me they won't run in River with randoms much anymore because of the amount of griefing going on right now.

Just a thought.

My child has a toon on my account that gets ran occasionally. At that laff level, the child was fearful of the cogs as the levels rose in the factory. That was quite sometime ago tho. I can't tell you the times the child cried whenever 5 laff was lost. Thank the stars that isnt the issue now, that child is a terror at Bossbot! BUT, children are hard to peg when it comes to this game. I try not to deliberately let a toon go sad, regardless, because I think of my child sitting there crying over 5 lost laff. But, like the poster above, I wonder about a toon that is in high laff (100+) doing that. Even then I have to wonder if a child got a hold of mom or dad's toon just to see the SOS, Unites, or level 7 gags in action ... or not in action, in this case. But, regardless, it is hard to really know who is driving the toon ... so i just try to ignore them and play as if they arent there. If they contribute, great! If not, oh well.

I know what you mean. Some time ago, my then 8-year-old daughter was playing her toon, 100+ laff with all gags maxxed but trap, and carrying an arsenal of SOS cards. She was with two friends and her brother, then 5 years old, all three of whom were somewhere within the 50-70 laff range with maybe a couple tracts maxxed. One friend disconnected, after which the second friend for whatever reason ditched my two kids in the warehouse. My daughter had enough to solo the entire factory, but both she and my son went into sheer panic out of fear of being alone in there - all while I'm sitting next to them, each of us on a laptop.

My 5-year old started to immediately alt out, but I grabbed his arm before he could do it. They finished the factory easily with just a little guidance or calming them down a bit I guess. Whenever I see something that appears a little strange, I remember my kids in the factory and wonder.

Now, the same as with your child, I've taken both my kids in the CEO at the same time, and they go at it fearlessly.

If I remember correctly you've mentioned it happening with Princess Lily Featherberry or was it Princess Candy.... I recall you saying something about her ditching Rebecca

I completely agree. But I think its stupid for little laffers to do that but its even MORE PATHETIC when bigger toons do it which ive seen plenty of times.
