Factory isn't hard to get solo or duo even in crowded districts. I'm usually with a friend. One of us stands near front elevator and attracts the normal crowd of whistles and fruit pies. The other goes off right and acts like they are looking for a specific type of sellbot (run up to a bot, look at type/level, back off, and run towards next one). Once they get around to the side entrance they whisper "coast is clear". A quick teleport and we are on elevator and away before any of the small toons catch on. Every once in while only a few merits are needed, CI doesn't matter, and we don't feel like blasting through like the indianapolis 500. Then we go in the front so that we can show new toon the ropes. After all, we were once new and some 100laffer was kind enough to show us a few tricks.
Personally, I think most of the "griefers" in VP are somebody's little brother or something. What bugs me most is a 40-50 in a soundless lineup who keeps ruining the lure bonus. One time this toon kept throwing marbles at L12. Another toon was trying to throw birthday. Bday+cream+lure=210 (enough to defeat L12). Bday+marbles_lure=130 (not even enough to defeat L10). If you throw $ bills then you always get bonus. Only time you don't get bonus is with magnets and goggles.
Which .... if there was a golden rule about attacking lured cogs ....
it would not be "don't use sound on lured cogs". That's bogus. Sound on lured cogs is great if it is done in the right way at the right time. The correct speedchat phrase should be "don't attack a lured cog unless you can defeat it." If you can't defeat it then pass. Wait until the next round. The toon throwing lures can combine with you and the battle will be much easier for everybody.
