What you are talking about is lag and Disney can't fix it, only you can.

Well if I got lag
Then how do some slower computers even run? I am running a computer that can run all of microsoft offices applications at once with no lag. My internet is dsl, and speed is not an issue there what so ever. So, what do I need to have 10 gig processor and 5 gigs of memory? I mean come on, I don't buy into the whole lag issue that they like to toss to toons here.

This happens to be all the time.
I live in the middle of nowhere so my internet connection is on a satellite. The lag is terrible at times, especially in busy districts. If I don't win be several seconds, I don't win. If you are beaten by a cheater it is usually very obvious and not a close race. |

This is what I recommend for Playing Toontown:
At least 512MB of RAM Updated Graphics Card Driver If you just do that then you will never experience lag, you don't need a Super Fast computer with 2GB of RAM to play Toontown.

I have a gig of RAM, brand new updated graphics card and I get lag. Lag is based on your connectivity. How fast your computer communicates with the ToonTown servers. Your internet connection is the main factor. What you say will help but to say it will eliminate lag is false. |

Lag can be from many different factors, including insufficient RAM or poor quality connection.
I had a real problem with lag after the Doodle release. After a lot of trial and error, it turned out that I had background programs which were eating up too much of my 704 MB of RAM. Once I identified my problem, I chose to disable my Norton Systemworks when I played TT. When the time came to renew the Norton, I choose to use Norton AV instead of Systemworks as it uses less RAM.

When I race with my one friend, I am usually about 2-3 seconds ahead of him.
I know this because when we race together and he needs the win, I wait at the start up until he goes. I also know this because when I race alone on practice tracks, my time is better. I'm not saying there aren't cheaters out there, because we all know there is. The point to cheating is beyond me and all we can do is report them, but be weary - some ppl aren't cheating and an innocent person can get banned, but I doubt that because the ppl I've reported by looking at the board, are still playing. ps: I'm a mom. As you might of noticed
I said "if" key word... I know disney has a lot of issues out there. If I was trying with the computer I am currently on I would understand lag. This computer is beyond old and slow, I am seriously wondering if cavemen built it. Ok that is an exageration, but seems like it. I know that there can be lag due to many different reasons. It is not always cheating. That is why I didn't say the only way this happened is someone was cheating, because everytime this happens it is not always someone cheating. I posted a while back about a glitch some how I got into, where my speed boost would not go away. Which is so embarrassing to me. I have taken to watching my speed, and alting out if it occurs. I know I lose the intial tickets, but holding the back key just to slow down becomes a royal pain. I don't mind losing, I love to lose to someone that is about my level of skill. This makes for the races to be fun and exciting. I love to win of course but on my merits, alone. Not by cheating or toontown cheating someone of a win.

I know exactly how you feel, except I've yet to have experienced the glitch. |

It partually depends on the computer processor speed and ram and also not mentioned, the speed of your video card. I recommend getting a good new video card to help, one that is fast and is able to work with Toontown. A second factor of this laggin is of course your internet speed. I run off of a internet connection of 256k DSL line. There are many to have, one being the fastest is up to T1 with Fiber Optics. Most people of course dont have that fast so it mostly depends on your computer. Last factor like always is district size... heh like having 900 people in a district dont halp any.

Like I said there is lag
I am not disputing issues of lag, what I am saying is... serisously the computer this happened on is has more than enough and that is understatement on ram, processor, and most of all video card. The video card is ranked second on the gamers review. It was not that I was in the largest district, infact, just like some chats I think they should put a cap on districts. When there is more than 1000's toons on a district. There is going to be complications. I normally avoid these districts, however sometimes it is unavoidable, unless you are just going to run around doing nothing. Such as I am sure people can do a mint by themselves but who would want to.

Here's a solution they can do to fix this problem.
Idea: The time should be recorded by the computer, not the server, so if the person speeds up, then so will the timer, and causing them to get a late score, also they should wait till everyone finishes racing, or they can leave without getting a reward. |

For the Final time! It dosen't matter how fast your Internet Connection is, it doesn't matter how many toons are in a district, Toontown has over 500mps [MegaBytes Per Second] for each server so it is definatly not on Disney's side. I have tested Toontown on a 56kbps Modem once on a 900+ toon district and had no lag because it was the ideal running environment. If you have at least 200MB of avaliable RAM [Not 512MB, Not 256MB of total RAM but AVALIABLE RAM] with a updated Video Card then you will never experience lag.
