Thumbs down Please Don't Snipe for SFs

I know a lot of people like to help their sfs win races by losing on purpose. I personally feel that's contrary to the spirit of the game, but as long as it doesn't hurt anybody else, go ahead. To each his own.

I was a bit hesitant to post this note for fear that bringing it up in public will only increase the number of snipers, but these things have a way of spreading virally in MMOGs, so I'm sure if you haven't already experienced this, it won't be long before everyone knows about it anyway.

What I mean by sniping is when two sfs go in a race together along with an innocent bystander. One of them (the 'designated winner') will race normally. The other (the sniper) will drive to the first batch of presents and sit there repeatedly picking up gags. Banana peels get dropped where ever, speed boosts get burned off either pointing at the wall or moving ahead to the next batch of presents. But the sniper's goal is simply to find anvils, which get dropped every time their sf isn't in the lead.

Two sfs can take turns doing this, ensuring one of them wins every race, and denying the other innocent racer(s) any chance at all. By coming in first in a 3-4 kart race, you win enough that you can afford to not even qualify when it's your turn to snipe.

This is very much against the spirit of the game, and very unfair to people who get stuck in a race like this. It's happened to me once, and I'm sure it'll happen again. By all means help your sfs if you want, but please, not by cheating other players out of a fair chance to win.

I'd like to see Disney put a stop to this by detecting if you haven't moved significantly forward for, say, 10-15 seconds, then your gags get disabled.

I agree. Just one more way people have figured a way to avoid teamwork with randoms. I honestly thought GSW would be void of this kind of thing. The thing that really bothers me is there is no way out of the race! At least in the factory or between floors in a bldg. you can open your schticker book and leave and you have nothing to lose except some time. GSW you lose tickets..and obviously you won't be getting any substantial amount.
Simply maddening!

Nice thread, BTW. Good to know.

I haven't even thought about people doing this. When my SFs and I race, we both try as hard as possible to beat each other. If people want to do it by themselves in two-person races, but don't ruin the experience for the others. It's like in the VP and CFO when two friends choose only to use weak gags so as to gag train. Yes, it might be good for the two of them, but it comes at the expense of the overall group and makes it less enjoyable.

Wow, I hadn't thought of that either. That's pretty low. I do have many sfs who ask me to throw the race or take turns winning and as much as I enjoy playing with them, it's just no fun letting someone else win. I've decided to break from GSW for a little while and go back to test.

Good post Freddy, thx.

Freddy, thanks for bringing this up here. This sounds very frustrating. I was actually in a race the other night when one of the other 3 toons stopped moving on the second lap. I did not think too much of it and was still able to win the race. However, I will try to keep an eye out for offenders of this type. Guess I will have to hope for a turbo and stay in second place until the end of the race if possible.

We can blame Disney for this personally me and some of my freinds are going to do this since we can't race alone and I just want laff boost me freinds and us are going to let each other win as for the spirit of teh game is sort of lost in GSW since all those new updates are bringing the fun preformance down GSW reminds me of sell bot HQ a very long same old boreing task to get laff points. -Max Twinklescooter ::EDIT:: didn't read about anvil part taht is mean if they don't let you know they are going to help each other but if we do get a unwanted guest who insist to race with us I would use anvil's though.

I never would have thought of doing this. A friend and I like to take turns winning races but we race only with each other. We do what we can to get on alone. If by chance someone DOES get on with us as the clock runs down we just go ahead and race normally. No big deal.

Toons need to also realize that sometimes people do not want extra company in a race though. It is very irritating to try for so long to get in a race without a full group when toons keep jumping on regardless of how many times you say no. But we would never play in a mean way because of it!

Wow... I never thought of that. I was in a race once and I was in first on the last lap and I got hit by an anvil atleast 10 times in that one lap.. I looked on the race thing and saw that 2 of them were stopped. I never thought that they were "cheating". I just thought that they had to go or something. Anyways, since the 2 people were stopped I still ended up getting 2nd so it wasn't that bad. But still, I could of gotten first!
