Racing slow now?

So from what i understand tt has it now that basically all computers can race at the same speed for better equality in the outcome of the race. (please correct me if i'm wrong)..anyway i noticed that today when i logged on i was fine no lag at all computer ran as soomth as it usally does (i did mints and cfo and buildings ect. with no lag) then i went to go to do some races with a friend (none busy district). well i noticed imediatly that my computer was not ruinning up to par and its only during the races. I can barly keep up with the leader now and believe me i wasn't a bad racer before, i mean i lost some but when i say i can barly keep up i mean it like theres no hope to win the race. can anyone explain this?

its like the computer slows down for the race then its fine for anywhere else in toontown

Try upgrading your CPU and Memory, with the latest updats I would recommend anything under 512MB of RAM will lagg greatly on Toontown.

I found the opposite. I run on a celeron 3 800 MHZ, geforce 2TI and 512 RAM.

Before the last update I would strugle big time to keep up. Everyone would finish the race and I would still have half a lap to go. I would always get stuck for a while when I hit a corner and take off very slowly.

After the patch I was able to keep up with everyone else. I no longer got stuck on corners, now I just sort of bounce off. Now I even win a race every now and then instead of coming last all the time.

Maybe its not so much a case of you slowing down. Maybe its just a case of now everyone runs at the same speed so the ones that were slow to you before , sped up and are going the same speed as you now.

I'm sure in your case, the new updates sped things up.

TT states the minimum requirements for TT is:

Microsoft Windows 98, ME, 2000, or XP
233 MHz or faster CPU
128MB RAM memory (256MB Recommended)
100MB free space on your "\Program Files" hard drive (most likely C
A video card with 3-D acceleration, at least 8MB (32MB/AGP card is recommended)
A 56K modem, or a faster Internet connection
Microsoft DirectX 7.0 (or newer)
Microsoft Internet Explorer v. 5.01 (or newer)

This is actually quite a bit lower than what TT really needs to run. This my opinion to run TT smoothly on:

1GHz AMD/Pentium CPU or faster
1GHz RAM or more
A 3D video card with 64MB of RAM or better
Better than 56K modem internet connection
Microsoft DirectX 9.0c
Microsoft Internet Explorer v. 6.0 SP2 or better
The newest macromedia and flash drivers

Anything else then what I stated and you're going to experience lag. The more you can exceed what I stated, the less lag you should experience.

TT auto-installs some drivers for them, but not the newest. I find the newest drivers work best.

I so hear you ... I am in the same position. Prior to the update 2 days ago I was able to make all time records. However now not a chance the lag is horrid and trying to start my kart is really bad. The tweaking of the game is not right yet and I do hope Disney is able to adjust the game so that it is an even deal.

Lets go ...Bring my on!

Toontown is running on DirectX and OpenGL. Macromedia and Flash should not have any influence. Toontown is an application that is just started from the webbrowser. It's not running in it. Toontown also does not install these drivers. It installs an ActiveX script to test and download the application.

Back to the topic: In my case the update have speed up thingsdrastically. I have a Pentium 4 3GHz, 1GB Ram and GeForce 5200. I was not really lagging before the update but I couldn't keep the car on the streets and therefor didn't come close to any of the records. Now after the update i can keep the car much more stable and reach far better times. Even breaking the default records is not out of reach anymore. Driving with friends who don''t drop anvils and getting some speedboost is now the key in getting a new record.

Same here...

Before the update Rabid could be heard screaming as he flew over the hills and now the poor lil' guys car is sooooo slow he can be heard crying his lil' eyes out as all the cute bunnies pass him by. Some even slow down just enough to let him putt putt by and then they drop an anvil on him.

You better check again. If your computer doesn't have flash or macromedia, it will install these.

For the video that runs while you download the game. Not for the game itself.
