Calm Down...

Hey,

I've been racing for a few days, just bought my roadster, and have been getting some tickets to save up for accessories. Well, I'm racing against some mouse (not going to name names) who has around 110 laff. He has a totally tricked out red and black roadster with mega exaust and stuff. He is beating me the ENTIRE race, but on the last lap on the bridge right before the finish line on City Circuit REV I anviled him after the turbo. I win by about two seconds, maybe less. He starts bombarding me with "You Stinks!". I keep my cool and say "Phew! Yes, thanks!" I'm trying to lighten him up a bit at this point. He just keeps screaming at me. I don't fight back, I just say "Good Race!" and leave.

At the GSW playground, he starts to randomly slam his keyboard to try and annoy me with SF Chat, which I can't understand of course. I just switch districts.

Of course, this was not the only time this has happened to me. I've run into many people who get furious when I beat them. I would like to say "It's just a game!" but that's not a SpeedChat phrase so usually I either ignore them and leave, calmly taunt them without actually being mean, or plain old go about my business racing.

However, mostly if I quickly say "Good Race" and throw a bunch of compliments and friendly phrases at them when I win, the other racers are calm. But of course, for many people, this has no effect, and they still get angry.

When I first started racing, I admit I'd get a little agitated if I got anviled on a turbo, but now I calm myself down and just try to have fun with it. It is a game after all. Lots of times I actually laugh when someone anvils me, it's kind of funny to see a giant anvil come out of the sky and smoosh your toon.

So, I'm just asking everyone to calm down a bit when they lose a race, and try not to brag when you win. You avoid many arguments and fights if you just keep your cool and say some compliments. If someone else insults you after the race, try not to take it to heart and either ignore the comment or calmly taunt them without actually being mean. It works quite well for me.

I will admit, I am frustrated beyond heck when this happens, I saw you got lucky!(although I wish you could say it in a grumpy less cheery way,and say you just got lucky this time or something), but I don't target them with you stinks or anything, although this happens everytime, my luck stinks. It is really anoying, so much that when I can, I don'tdo this to pepole, it ruins the game.

I totally agree Stimpy. I am sticking to the TUV, because I'm more of a Truck Man myself, but still, I love it when they drop anvils on me. I laugh so hard with me and my wife playing and getting smashed all the race, and teaming up on the others for a little revenge.

I have said it in another post, if you could win easily everytime you race, what's the point?

Keep the anvils dropping Stimpy, I got one with your name on it too! LOL.

On test, I didn't get any of that.
I raced for about 2 hours yesterday and 3 today to get my roadster.
I was so suprised how angry people were getting over the races...
Sure, I get really mad when I lose or get anviled...
But I just make really ugly distorted faces instead of flaming people.
Makes more sense to me.

I admit i will yell at you but thats only if i say no dont come on, but people come on and im stuck with them and they ruin the race for me


but i dont yell when i lose cause of an anvil caus it happens way too much lol

I know. I mean they are so compedative and when you get hit by an anvil they are laughing. But when you hit them with an anvil they get all angry. And they say "I need more tickets" expecting us to let them win. Not that I care about winning but I'd like to get some tickets too. They are just being sore loosers.

Yeah there have been a couple of times that people have been mean after i beat them, but i think as more time passes people will calm down about the whole GSW thing. I admit i get a little agitated also, but its all in fun. I think its so funny when i get hit with an avil! especially when i hit those infront of me Like Stimpy said Its Just A Game!

Normally when an anvil hits me a Ha ha is said so i say Nice Shot! The toon normally goes Huh? Then i use my turbo i've been saving a beat them but then the You Stinks start flying towards me Lol

Some people are just plain negative... nothin you can do but ignore it. I've been lucky- every time I win a race everyone's all happy and cheery and junk and we're all saying "good race" and what not... no one's ever been angry at me for beating them. I really don't like when I get hit with an anvil when I'm about to win- but I just shrug it off and forget about it. It happens to me a lot when I'm just about to finish in 1st- some toon hits me with an anvil. I think "Jeez that stinks! Oh well- it's just a game". Life's unfair sometimes- you gotta learn to roll with it.
