Music and GSW

I noticed that listening to your favourite music instead of TT music whiles racing helps you to win and achieve better results.
Discussing on this forum previously on another topic, I brought up this issue:

"...5th: Instead of using the TT music with sound effect during the race, try to put something more dynamic and less disturbing, me personaly, I listen to deep house, trance, dance music (all depends on eachone's preferences, can be rock or rap as well, even classics, like Vivaldi "Four seasons". Why not?)"

and some agreed with me (quoting Domino SparkleDoodle):

"(Off topic) Hehe, I just got a record in screwball stadium while listening to "The Tiki Room" does the music really help? Oo"
this made me to decide to make a separate thread about it.

So, do you listen to other than TT music whiles racing? If you do -what kind? And do you think it helps you to perform better?

Really hmm?
Well I was just about to check out GSW on open.
Guess it's time to pop in Mindless Self Indulgence.

Well, that does sound reasonable.
Since music can soothe you, cheer you up.

I agree.. Maybe though it doesn't have same effect on everyone, and most of the TT players leave the TT sound on, or some play in total silence?!

bleh i turn off that poo they call music, i like to listen to system of a down while racing, though i like to listen to the sound effects to figure out where im going. and a quick tip: Use a cd or mp3 player instead of your comp to listen to music while racing, keeps the lag down.

I turned off the music last night and I raced so much better.
I think because when the game music speeds up, I get nervous or something. I won 2 CC races last night... sweeet.

then the music effect IS individual... Since you mentioned "game music" - you mean Toontown music? Did you try to race whiles listening to you're favorite kind or any other than of TT music whiles racing?

It probably helped

I think when you are listening to the music you like, you will feel that time pass faster than listening to the Toontown music (that really helps getting merits... hehe). I hated the rustic track, I would always tell my sf that it's a "grandma" track just because it was going sooooo slow! I think the music had something to do with it that makes me think that I was going really slow. So, maybe when I get on later, I might just put on some music other than listening to what Toontown has and see if I will like the track better... and see if I will win some more races.

Thanks for the suggestions... it's definately worth a try!
