how does bumping work

I am on the race way. Everytime someone comes close to my they send me flying and my speed rate drops or goes to 0. It kills everyone. I have never been able to do that . I also used a speed booster once to knock a person off, it doesn't work for me. He cually bumped me really high in the air. It wasted i think 5 to 6 seconds off my time. Do i have to have a certain vechicle to do this.

i heard it's cased by lag
exsample: theres a toon racing they bumped you. That mean they didn't see you on their screen.
if a SF says you bumped then it's lag you didn't see then on the screen.

Its happen to me too.. Toons have done it to me and ive done it to them, it makes me come to a stop sometimes but the person who bumps you doesnt even know they did it..well when its an accident.
