I consider this a cheat
when you use it against other players that do not know it.
I personally have anviled right before a gift set, received another anvil on that gift and anviled, and then I hit a speed boost against one of these toons that has used this technique, and I DID NOT stop him nor did I catch up at all. And from this I learned the method to slide the walls. If you watch the video, you will notice that the front toons were never, ever anviled. Although, the third toon, who did not know the "feature" probably was dropping anvils on them, just was not dropping the anvils when the toons were not against the walls. If you suspect that a toon is doing this against you, you can ALT F4 out on them. This might, I emphasize MIGHT, take them down with you and they will not get the victory. But, when you do this, you will forfeit your tickets and you cause the other players to also forfeit their tickets.

So I'm guessing you also consider it a cheat when you race a new toon who doesn't know the turns and beat him/her? Its practically the same thing, since the wallslides were intended. Although to be honest it would probably be more fair if there were something about wallsliding in the Player's Guide. (Although I figured them out myself ). |

Actually, the way you did your comparison above is not even close to an appropriate comparison. You are comparing apples to lets say dinosaurs; waaaay out of line. You are not even close to comparing apples and oranges. If a toon does not know how to race, its a skill issue and not a cheating issue. When a toon uses the wall to gain an advantage over a toon that is racing on the street, this IS CHEATING. The reason it's cheating is because this type of racing is outside the scope of what TT developers intended. Why are the other tracks set up to where you cant slide? Plus, what race on Earth is set up for you to race on the wall and not on the street? I've never heard of one if I might say so myself. So, wall sliding is cheating, its like steroids for your kart. The best thing is for TT to completely get rid of wall sliding, this would make racing equal for everyone. Plus, this would get rid of all those wall sliders that cant win without it! To be honest, a good racer would NOT need to wall slide to win a race. |

There are a few home made porgrams that do this. It is a much slower
version of macroing. There times are MUCH more reasonable and they go crazy at the last lap. Therefore they cannot be reported or suspendid becuase thier time is too slow for macroing. TT is soo easy to hack. You cannot prevent this. Team up with a few friends and share race, the best way to do it. P.S. Dogfather....I liked your post, very true and had that sarcastic twang to it....funny.

Actually, wall sliding was intended. They programmed the game, I'm sure they knew that sliding the walls were available. People glitch the factory for an advantage or glitch the puzzles. Wall sliding isn't glitching anything. I think Megachomps analogy was a good one. Some people know how to do things and others don't; that's like. Some are just too lazy to practice it...

Corny, How can you say that toons are "too lazy to practice it...?" The toons that are lazy at practicing the tracks are the ones that cheat and slide on the walls all day long. Sliding on walls is not difficult, nor does it take any skill. Its easier to slide on the wall all day long than to race the colliseum races, LOL! Learning to manuver yourself around the track appropriately and turn at the right angles, speeds and moments is what takes skill. Sorry, but I still dont buy it. P.S. - Sir Pancake, I always try to make things interesting. Thanks. |

I shouldn't have said "too lazy" but it's not just sliding on the walls. You can;t just hit a wall and automatically slide it. There's certain ways to slide it, ways to approach it, different walls that are slidable, different choices of which ways to go.
You can't just go up to any random toon and tell them to hit a wall and they will slide because they won't. It's not as easy as just hitting a wall and going fast. It's an acquired technique that needs to be learned. It's way harder than just doing the regular track. You say it's wasier to slide on the walls than do race a coliseum race. Sliding the walls on BB rev is WAAAAY harder than that. It's not smoething that you just catch onto, it takes practice to master it. ~CcE

I use this technique
I'm not very good at it. I had gone in a race with a couple of my sfs, and they both lapped me. I got frustrated, and demanded they show me what they were doing. They took me through a practice race, going over and over the track showing me where to hit, and where not to hit. Like I said, I'm not very good at it, and I definitely can't do the track in 2 minutes, or lap anyone, but I have been able to reduce my race time by a whole minute, and win first place more often.
I [obviously] don't consider this a cheat, but I still don't use it in every race.

lol... Its not like you just hit a wall and its one easy path to the finish line. There are several areas that are placed strategicaly and you have to train yourself to hit certain points. Also it sort of makes sence that they are there on the tracks like Blizzard Boulevard, because maybe the walls are covered in ice. xD (Not sure how to explain why wallsliding works on the other tracks though lol) Lastly, maybe my comparison was a bit of a stretch, but what I tried to say was that wallslides were intended and therefore couldn't be cheating. You can tell me that I'm wrong when you master the walls on Blizzard Boulevard Rev. ![]() |

It's not something that can be explained through words.
The only way someone will get good at it is if someone spends hours trying to teach them on the track or if you go on the practice track and experiment ways to slide the wall and which walls, and how to slide them, etc. ~CcE
