New Tie breaker rule
September 17, 2007 [sv1.0.30.16.test]
Now when there is a minigolf tie breaker, the winner (by fastest course time) will be declared prior to the showing of the rankings. Hopefully, it is too late to ALt F4 at this time and the toon that wins and stays will still get credit for either a Multi player game(we need 600 of these) and a course win with Multi Player(we need 100 of these on each course. Now, for you toons that have mutliple toontown accounts you do not have to worry about this. Because you can just play with your family or yourself. Currently on test, the time begins when you are going to shoot. That is when the clock begins at 59 seconds and counts down. Not when you are selecting your tee off position. You add it up on each and every shot. So, on a three hole course in which you score a three it could be as low as 6 seconds, or 0' 6" 0

The only problem with giving a win to a player that finishes solo is that it could be used to get more multiplayer completions and course wins deliberately.
A and B start a round A Xs out on first hole A logs in and starts a round with C B gets a MP completion and course win in half the time C logs out C logs in and starts a round with B A gets a MP completion and course win in half the time ... Your best bet is to find friends to play with who will stay with it through the match. If playing with randoms get more than one in the cart and hope one hangs in. It helps to not be ahead too much so they have some hope of a win. If playing with one random best to be behind if you think you can get the win at the end. A five stroke lead is a bit disheartening to the losing toon, a tie or close leaves hope of a win and keeps them in the game. And winning isn't everything anyhow - it takes a while to get 600 mp completions - you should get enough wins without having to play hard on every course. |

So, I should not have done this?
I agree with your strategy about letting them stay close. I have been doing that myself on the Open Server.
But when you have a good score going, you gotta go for it. No, the toon did not stick around until the end.
