Second Wind Hints

I am having a very rough time with Second Wind. I invariably end up with a 6, first of all, because I can't get my initial shot to go into any of the three holes, then, once I do get it into one of them (usually the large ring) I will either hit the ball too soft, thus never getting up the hill, or too hard, thus hitting the back and then rolling back down.

Some hints on that hole would be greatly appreciated.

I have heard a lot of players get the ball in the center at 93 or 94% going straight into it but no one seems to have that dialed in yet. On Second wind 2 I have banked it off the wall from the center tee and gotten it in the middle cup. 90-100% about 2/3 up the side wall.

On the bottom level, if you are stuck behind the brick in the back some people hit the ball to follow the wall around. Sometimes that catches in the orange chute and gets kicked back behind the brick. You can also soft putt it (10% or less) to get lined up with the path on the right facing the hole. I think the soft putt is better.

Once you have a path to the green you have a few shots depending on your position. For a straight shot with no walls (this works in second wind also) a 50-57% shot (50 from the bottom of hill, 57 from back of bottom part) to the side of the green will usually stick. If you need to bounce it something in the 66% range should work. If you are on the left side (facing hole) you can somtimes wrap around the back wall and stick in the chute. On the right side you can sometimes get it to stick at about 55% aiming just below the chute.

If you have can shoot at the hole I find aiming at the edge of the hole and 55-60%. The amount of correction depends on how close you are to the edge. Aim to the right side on the right side and left if on the left.

If you are behind the bricks sometimes you can bank it into the hole. Those shots need something close to 70% but I have not done that so it might be a bit off.

if you are stuck behind the brick nearest the hole sometimes you can hit it hard (90%+) against the other brick and have it jump over the brick nearest the hole. I have only tried it once that it worked so no guarantees.

Good luck.

I have fun with golf, except for the "Second Wind" hole. Second Wind is a chore. I would like to see Disney change it.

I have played most my games at the nine hole "The Hole Kit and Caboodle". The Second Wind usually has an obstacle in the middle of the green, which makes that shot difficult. I can sometimes hit the center if I stand to the right and swing at 86-87%. This is a very narrow swing range, the angle is critical, and there is no gaurantee that it will go in. Often times a miss will come right back at you. The margin for error on the bottom of the green is equally bad. The level area around the hole is very small, and often times my ball rolls back down behind an obstacle. A direct swing of 52-53% puts you near the hole, sometimes.

The exit tunnel closest to the hole can be used to stop the ball from rolling back down the green. If I hit the ball up the left side of the wall (facing the hole) it will roll up, around, and catch a little bit on the exit hole of the tunnel. This helps greatly in stopping the ball.

Sometimes, to avoid the frustration, I quickly hit the ball (3%) against the wall, and accept the triple bogey for both my toons. This only requires 78sec to reach triple bogey for both toons! Let's call this the "Quick Triple Bogey".

Now for the math :-)

Number of toons playing = 2
Average number of of seconds per swing, per toon = 20 sec
Par 4 Hole (Second Wind), with triple bogey = 7 swings per toon
Number of "The Hole Kit an Caboodle"'s required for one toon = 100games/trophy

Time for two toons to complete one "Second Wind" hole with triple bogey
(20sec/swing)(7swings)(2toons) = 280sec

Time for two toons to complete one "Second Wind", Quick Triple Bogey
78sec

Let's assume 3/4 of the 100 "The Hole Kit and Caboodle" courses contain a "Second Wind" hole.
Total number of a "Second Wind" holes for both toons = 150

Total conventional time spent on "Second Wind" (I frequently triple bogey)
(280sec)(150) = 42,000sec

Total time spent on Quick Triple Bogey
(78sec)(150) = 11,700sec

Total time saved with Quick Triple Bogey
42000sec - 11700sec = 30,300sec = 8.4hr

WHAAAAAAT!!!?! I am going to spend eight MORE hours than I need to...on the most frustrating hole in golf?!

Not if I can help it.

Going +3 is not a bad strategy given the time and effort needed for some holes. On the Test server there was a version of Whole in Won that was unbelievably hard. It was not unlike the current version except it was U shaped and went uphill instead of down. Just getting on the green was a challenge, when you were off even a little it might roll to the bottom.

One tip I forgot - when you need to hit a narrow power range you can let the power meter roll past 100% and the second and third time through the meter goes slower and is easier to stop on a specific number.

Hole in Ones on Second Wind and TWO

Mine was straight at the hole. 80%. Duplicated? Never.

edit: I just noticed that this picture is from the first version of this hole, Second Wind. Because the second circle is brown, and not black. No wonder I have never duplicated, it has totally changed.

I have no clue what Tenderheart Bear did. I do remember she also hit from the left side of the brick. Too bad that is all I can remember. Maybe if she reads this she will know what she did.

at last a hole in one!! I was about to give up and considered the 3+ strategy but today I got lucky and was able to repeat the process several times, ok not every time

Two sf's were also lucky with this speed and aim today.

Taking the right hand position aimin towards the middle red with a speed of 77, I love tht red pipe u know its where we all wanna go.

Using the mickey glove as a pointer sure helps secure a repeat of the process. (Position mouse pointer on the x of the score sheet to close it and leave it there!! showing u where your aim is.)

77 I now love tht nos. Good luck!!

As for a miss on the red, and a roll down the orange and blue pipes +3 and 8 hours saved I think thts where I'll be going too.

Try using the flowers and trees, in the foreground, to align your shots. My initial shots are very consistent if I align the edge of my monitor on the same spot on a flower or tree.

I use a piece of paper lined up from the middle of the golf club to where I want to go...

Hey, what can I say, I am legally blind in one eye, my spatial awareness is pretty bad.

I love this and have used this method too!!!!
It is just not worth the frustration if you do not make it in the red. Maddening comes to mind, lol!
